This morning, at 5:30, ITM colleagues from Valsamoggia site gathered in Bologna for the Run 5.30.

A simple and meaningful moment outside the office: 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

This week, our dealer Alfamine took part in Exponor Chile 2026 in Antofagasta, one of the leading global events for the mining industry: an occasion to exchange knowledge, discover innovations, and foster collaborations that contribute to the future of mining operations.

On May 24, the ITM team joined , one of Bologna’s running events, where sport becomes an opportunity to connect and 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽.

Sharing this experience together outside of work allowed us to express what being a team truly means: supporting each other and moving in the same direction.

Every step counts, and it’s through , and collaboration 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Skipping the break in phase is one of the most common causes of premature roller and idler failure.
𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 to protect seals, avoid overheating, and keep your machine ready for work.

✅ 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, rotate track rollers, carrier rollers and idlers a few turns in both directions to protect seals and help oil flow.
✅ 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀: avoid long, continuous travel. Stop every 5 minutes, then move a short distance in the opposite direction to support oil circulation.
✅ 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲: use slow travel mode. Check lower rollers and front idlers for abnormal temperature.
✅ 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝘁-𝘂𝗽𝘀: if you install one or a few new rollers on a worn undercarriage, watch temperature closely for 200 hours (new parts carry a higher load).
✅ 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, such as lifting the machine and counter turning the undercarriage: this can cause early structural damage.

Extra tip? 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 of the undercarriage components after every replacement.
For safer checks and fewer manual stops, operators can monitor roller temperature live from the cab with 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗧𝗠® 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 when values reach critical thresholds.

On 16 May, we held the 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗧𝗠 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, an opportunity to meet outside the workplace and strengthen the collaborative approach that defines the way we work at ITM.

An approach built on 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀, which translates into the 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆.

In demanding mining environments, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
ITM has introduced targeted improvements to 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:

✅ new material for deeper heat treatment
✅ increased anti-scalloping resistance
✅ improved seal design for joints

The result: longer wear life, greater performance under high loads and abrasion, more reliable joints and 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 are used in surface mining operations involving 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲, where machines must handle large volumes of material while operating on uneven ground and within confined working areas. These applications require high maneuverability, structural robustness, and the ability to move efficiently without additional auxiliary equipment.

To meet these requirements, ITM designed a 𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗱 𝗕𝟴 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲. The configuration consists of 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 integrated into the machine chassis and one 𝗽𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁–𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗳𝘁.
Combined with an electric drive equipped with an integrated permanent magnet motor, this solution allows the machine to move efficiently, including lateral maneuvering, while maintaining stability and performance.

A concrete example of how 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 address the challenges of complex material handling systems in the mining sector.

La scorsa settimana abbiamo avuto il piacere di accogliere presso lo stabilimento ITM di Potenza una 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗶𝗼, insieme al Presidente 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮 e a 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮, rappresentante di 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮 in occasione della recente vittoria della Coppa Italia di Serie C.

Un momento di incontro che ha rafforzato il legame tra ITM e il territorio, 𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗱𝗶 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼, 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅 𝗱𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗧𝗠, figura ancora molto presente nella nostra comunità.
