Si è concluso il ciclo di incontri dedicato allo sviluppo del settore ovi-caprino in Sardegna, una delle realtà più importanti del Mediterraneo per questa filiera.

Nei quattro appuntamenti organizzati tra Ogliastra, Arborea e Sud Sardegna, abbiamo avuto il piacere di incontrare oltre 200 professionisti del settore, condividendo esperienze, innovazioni e punti di vista sul futuro dell'allevamento.

La partecipazione e il confronto diretto con allevatori e tecnici hanno confermato quanto sia importante investire nella formazione e nell'innovazione per affrontare le sfide dei prossimi anni.

Un ringraziamento speciale va ai nostri concessionari, che operano su tutto il territorio sardo: dall'Ogliastra al nord dell'isola, dalla zona di Arborea fino al sud della Sardegna. La loro presenza capillare consente di garantire agli allevatori un'assistenza affidabile, competente e tempestiva.

The series of meetings dedicated to the development of the sheep and goat farming sector in Sardinia, one of the most important regions in the Mediterranean for this industry, has successfully come to an end.

Across four events held in Ogliastra, Arborea and Southern Sardinia, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 200 industry professionals, sharing experiences, innovations and valuable insights into the future of livestock farming.

The strong participation and direct exchange with farmers and technicians confirmed the importance of investing in training and innovation to meet the challenges of the years ahead.

A special thank you goes to our dealers, who operate across the whole of Sardinia: from Ogliastra and the northern part of the island, including the Arborea area, to Southern Sardinia. Their widespread presence enables them to provide farmers with reliable, professional and timely support.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this initiative.

🇬🇧 It was an honour to attend the 75th ICAR Annual Meeting, an international event of great value for the livestock sector and for the development of recording, management and sustainability systems in farming.

During the forum, we carefully followed several technical meetings, with particular attention to the developments related to the sheep and goat sector and to environmental topics in the cattle industry.

We are also very pleased with the election of Enrico Santus as ICAR president, the first Italian to hold this important role in the history of the International Committee for Animal Recording.

A meaningful moment for the sector and for the Italian contribution to research, innovation and data quality in livestock farming.

🇮🇹 È stato un onore partecipare al 75° Annual Meeting di ICAR, un appuntamento internazionale di grande valore per il settore zootecnico e per l’evoluzione dei sistemi di rilevazione, gestione e sostenibilità negli allevamenti.

Durante il forum abbiamo seguito con attenzione numerose riunioni tecniche, con particolare interesse per gli sviluppi legati al settore sheep and goat e ai temi ambientali applicati al comparto cattle.

Siamo inoltre molto soddisfatti per l’elezione di Enrico Santus alla presidenza di ICAR, primo italiano a ricoprire questo importante incarico nella storia dell’International Committee for Animal Recording.

This year, I chose to communicate in the first person, because I believe technical expertise is conveyed more effectively through a direct voice than through a brochure.

The digital infrastructure we have developed is based on a simple principle: a system must be reliable before it becomes sophisticated.
It must be easy to install, maintain, and use every day, even when the farmer is not an IT specialist.

We have built a plug-and-play solution based on CAN BUS technology: a single network that connects the server, feeding management, milking control, weighing system, transponders, and activity monitor.

In the sheep and goat sector, we are now a well-established technical reference. In the cattle sector, we will complete a series of major investments, with clear objectives over the next three years.

This is the first in a series of contents. In the upcoming installments, I will present each component of the system in detail, with data and real-world case studies.
