👉 During a survey, variability is not always visible in the field.
It often emerges later, during processing.

Differences in coverage, density or alignment between acquisition passes can translate into additional steps to reach a consistent dataset.

This is why the operational framework also matters.

The KUR-500v2 is the first European C2-class marked UAS with integrated LiDAR, developed to support professional survey operations where data quality and regulatory constraints must be considered together.

At the same time, the platform has been developed around the integration and validation of additional professional payloads for thermal inspection and full-frame photogrammetry workflows.

For urban, populated or operationally complex environments, C2 is not just a certification label. It contributes to making certain professional survey operations more practically deployable.

👉 In many projects, operational constraints are not only technical. They are regulatory.

This becomes particularly relevant in urban and populated environments, where proximity to people, access conditions and operational planning can directly affect the feasibility of a mission.

This is where C2 class marking becomes a relevant operational factor.

The KUR-500v2 is the first European C2-class marked UAS with an integrated LiDAR payload, developed to support professional aerial survey operations in urban and complex environments where data quality and operational constraints must be considered together.

👉 Not as an advantage on paper, but as a factor that contributes to enabling professional LiDAR operations in urban and populated environments where operational constraints are typically more demanding.

These aspects are reflected in the KUR-500v2 operational workflow, developed around the integration and validation of professional payloads such as the YellowScan Surveyor Ultra OEM LiDAR.

🗓️ On May 27th, we will also address how these conditions affect real missions during the Demo Day.

👉 When predictability becomes a constraint, the discussion moves beyond individual components.

In scenarios involving vegetation, partial occlusions or discontinuous surfaces, data acquisition is rarely just about capturing points. What tends to matter more is how consistently the dataset can be built across the entire mission.

This is where LiDAR contributes, particularly in maintaining coverage through vegetation and reducing variability between acquisition passes.

At the same time, field performance is not defined by the sensor alone. Platform stability, sensor alignment and acquisition workflow all influence how consistent and usable the dataset will be during processing.

These aspects are reflected in platforms designed for this type of operation, such as the KUR-500v2, when integrated with sensors like the YellowScan Surveyor Ultra OEM.

🗓️ On May 27th, during the Demo Day, we will work on these scenarios with live acquisition and data analysis, together with YellowScan.

👉 Many projects can be executed from a technical standpoint, but not all of them can be planned with the same level of predictability.

In scenarios such as:

✔️ vegetation-covered areas
✔️ complex or discontinuous geometries
✔️ environments with limited visibility

data can usually be collected.

The challenge tends to be elsewhere:

– estimating coverage before the mission
– maintaining consistency between acquisition passes
– anticipating the effort required to obtain a usable dataset

The issue is not feasibility, but how repeatable the outcome is under real conditions.

This is where the focus shifts: from the ability to acquire data to the ability to produce consistent datasets across missions.

🗓️ On May 27th, we will explore these aspects during a technical Demo Day, with live acquisition and data analysis.

👉 There are projects that tend to create operational friction.

Not because they are particularly complex, but because the standard workflow does not fully cover the requirement.

In practice, this often leads to:

✔️ repeated flights, without a clear indication that coverage is sufficient
✔️ integration with ground surveys to compensate for missing or uncertain data
✔️ external support for specific processing or validation steps

In some cases, it also means declining the work.

Not due to lack of capability, but due to uncertainty on data completeness, consistency, or processing effort.

This typically emerges in scenarios such as:

– vegetation-covered areas
– linear corridors (e.g. power lines)
– mixed or irregular environments

🗓️ On May 27th, we will work on these conditions during a technical Demo Day, in collaboration with Yellowscan, with limited attendance, focused on these scenarios.

👉 In certain types of surveys, the quality and completeness of the collected data becomes a central factor.

This is particularly relevant when dealing with:

✔️ vegetation
✔️ complex geometries
✔️ partially occluded surfaces

In these contexts, the outcome tends to depend on a series of operational trade-offs:

– variations in density between acquisition passes
– areas affected by occlusion or limited visibility
– additional steps such as classification, filtering or alignment

The dataset is often usable, but not always immediately consistent or defensible without additional processing.

Over time, this condition can affect timelines and operational margins.

🗓️ On May 27th, we are hosting a technical Demo Day, in collaboration with Yellowscan, with limited attendance, focused on these scenarios

Last week, we were at the YellowScan LiDAR Convention in Aix-en-Provence.

A focused opportunity to engage with the LiDAR ecosystem and discuss evolving applications in real operational contexts.

Insights like these directly inform platforms such as the KUR-500v2, where LiDAR integration is designed around data quality and operational reliability.

Thanks to YellowScan for the organization.

👉 A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to support Thrust during their flight test campaign at the Molinella airfield.

The activity focused on validating key elements of their recovery system, in a real operational environment.

Field testing like this is where design assumptions are verified, limits are identified, and improvements take shape through data.

Looking forward to the next steps.
