CASA MAZZA
Tiriolo (CZ), Italy
2019
The renovation of a three-storey building in the historic centre of Tiriolo redefines the domestic layout through a clear and coherent spatial structure.
At the heart of the intervention is the staircase, conceived as the backbone of the house and as an architectural device capable of connecting spaces, functions, and levels. The new distribution places the service areas on the lower floor, the living spaces on the intermediate level, and the sleeping area on the upper floor. The project seeks a balance between the memory of the existing building and the needs of contemporary living, enhancing the vertical continuity of the house. Light, materiality, and spatial relationships accompany the movement through the interior, shaping a coherent sequence of spaces and a renewed domestic identity.
