This is the Klipsch Klipschorn loudspeaker system, shown here in its most widely known version, manufactured between 1963 and approximately 2003. It is easily recognizable by the distinctive shape of the K-400 mid-frequency horn. The original design took its early form in 1946 and was presented by its creator, Paul W. Klipsch, in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Vol. 17, No. 3, January 1946. Some changes to the driver units occurred during the first 18 years of production, as detailed in the Dope From Hope, Vol. 12, No. 5, part of Klipsch's technical literature. With only minor modifications, the Klipschorn is still being manufactured and sold today, making it one of the longest continuously produced audio products in history.
