Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are generally used on the necks of milling cylinders, calenders and rolling presses.

They are particularly suitable for 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. Thanks to the large number of rolling raceways, their 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 is extremely high.

Their separable design allows the outer ring and cage assembly, designated as "R", to be mounted independently from the inner ring, designated as "L".

The bearings for tension levelers are considered 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀. Compared to the ones used in leveler/flattening machines, these back-up bearings must handle 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀.
