Attending the 3rd General Meeting of the HIT2GAP EU project (http://www.hit2gap.eu/), it was a pleasure (and an opportunity) to visit the Challenger site, the headquarters of Bouygues Construction at Saint Quentin en Yvelines (France).
The building implements a high level of innovation, merging as a whole the more advanced solutions on building design and energy infrastructure and ICTs for Energy Efficiency, to reach the actual Energy-positive performances.
Although the building produces more energy than the consumed ones, the management considers the improvement of the building energy performances a continuous achievement.
The HIT2GAP project will contribute to reach the goal through the improvement of the Energy Management System, with hypervision through the integration of fault detection and diagnosis, building performance simulation, occupant behaviour, forecasting and improvement of visualization tools (mitigation of gaps).

I am very proud to have led a group of experts, of 12 European Companies, who with the VERYSchool project helped to enhance the knowledge on "the school of the future", in the field of ICT solutions for energy efficiency in school buildings and educational organizations.
Our idea of developing the Energy Action Navigator was really innovative and very well appreciated by the Community.
My devoted thanks to all the people that working hard for 3-years and never forgetting our motto “learning by doing”, contributed to the project development and to achieve the outcomes.
The same devoted thanks to the European Commission which, believing in our proposal, had co-financed the VERYSchool project.

Throughout the Recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) it is requested that “the public sector in each Member State should lead the way in the field of energy performance of buildings” and “buildings occupied by public authorities and buildings frequently visited by the public should…

HIT2GAP Newsletter 1.1

Alfio, as project manager of Enerit key personnel staff, is participating in a new and exciting European Horizon 2020 project called HIT2GAP which I thought you might be interested in hearing about.
The actual energy consumption of buildings in Europe often significantly exceeds the expected energy requirements. It is this 'gap' that a new energy management platform (HIT2GAP) will help to reduce and improve the energy perfromance of buildings in Europe.
The HIT2GAP project has just published its first Project Newsletter.
The newsletter includes:
an introduction to the project and the partners,
an interview with Nikos Sakkas, the Technical Director of HIT2GAP,
a report on the 2nd Project Meeting in San Sebastian, and
upcoming events and opportunities.
View or download the newsletter here or at the HIT2GAP website.
http://www.hit2gap.eu/blog/first-hit2gap-project-newsletter
I hope you find it of interest, and look forward to future updates from HIT2GAP.
Best Regards,
Alfio
