AI + Wearable Sensors for Parkinson’s Diagnosis 🧠
We’re proud to share our latest open-access publication in the Journal of Clinical Medicine!

💡 Using our Motigravity platform, we combined wearable sensor data and Artificial Intelligence to detect and support rehabilitation for Parkinson’s Disease – even in a hypogravity environment.

Our hybrid CNN-LSTM model reached 100% validation accuracy in distinguishing pathological vs. healthy movement patterns – a major step forward in digital health and neuro-rehabilitation.

👨‍⚕️👩‍🚀 The system not only enhanced data quality but ensured patient safety during motion tests and exercises.

🌍 This work was made possible by an amazing international team:
🔹 SPACEMEDEX (France)
🔹 Department of Physiatry and Nursing, University of Zaragoza
🔹 iHealthy Research Group, University of Zaragoza / IIS Aragón

🧬 These advanced methods – where space technologies, AI, and medicine converge – will also be featured in our upcoming Space Medicine Course at marscity.academy.

🚀 XR for Space Applications – Enroll Now! 🚀

Extended Reality (XR) is transforming space exploration! 🌍✨ From training astronauts with realistic VR simulations to designing spacecraft and habitats in AR, XR is bridging the gap between the real and virtual worlds.

We are thrilled to introduce "XR for Space Applications," a new course prepared by Vittorio Netti, now available on Mars City Academy! 🌟

🔹 What you’ll learn:
✅ How XR is used for astronaut training & mission simulations 🧑‍🚀
✅ Virtual spacecraft & habitat design 🚀
✅ Teleoperation for space robotics & remote control 🤖
✅ XR’s role in medicine, architecture, military, and education 🔬🏗️🎓

📢 This course also marks the launch of our new Mars City Academy design, part of our Academy 2.0 learning program!

📌 Be part of the next space revolution! Enroll now: https://marscity.academy/course/xr-for-space-applications?site_template_id=678e7e9a1d20a4d21d0bdd8d

This year we mark 10 years of activity in the domain of VR simulation research and applications.
For research studies linked to our V-Mars Program: https://marsvrsys.com/motigravity/
to the development of treadmills https://marsvrsys.com/motigravity/ and
software: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1146380/Mars_City/
with a strong focus on Space Medicine Applications: https://neurologia.com/articulo/2020352
our history continues with a course on XR for Space applications coming on marscity.academy, new treadmills and software under development and a rich summer
of events in which we will show space in VR/ XR to a large public.

Mission Press release:
XRAE - Extended Reality Aquarius Experiment
A crew of three people, led by SICSA Researcher Vittorio Netti, will be part of the APUS Analog Research Group (AARG) Paired In-situ Research Analog and Technology Evaluation (PIRATE) 1 mission at Aquarius Reef Base in Islamorada, Florida 4th-7th January 2024.
Aquarius Reef, established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) (https://www.facebook.com/NOAA) ( in 1986 is the world's only active semi-autonomous research underwater laboratory. It is operated by FIU Florida International University (https://www.facebook.com/floridainternational) ( since 2013 and hosts NASA`s NEEMO missions.
The XRAE is organized in collaboration with Mars Planet Technologies and the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA) on how the perception of confined and isolated spaces will affect astronaut psychology during lunar surface operations.
To simulate those operations, the XRAE crew will use biosensors and Virtual Reality headsets inside the underwater habitat, collecting important biometric data about the level of stress, focus, and effectiveness of the analog astronauts while performing a range of mission-specific tasks.
