The Ugo Gregoretti is a 61 meters long vessel of the Italian Coast Guard (Guardia Costiera). It serves a multipurpose role including search and rescue, maritime patrol, law enforcement, and environmental protection and carries fast rescue boats and onboard sensors for surveillance and navigation. Regular missions include fisheries inspections, migrant rescue, and maritime safety enforcement in the Mediterranean.
In 2020 hosted the President of the Italian Republic.
Guess what? It has just been equipped with a set of 700 mm long bronze and rubber bearings from Caravel. The shaft has a diameter of 220 mm. We have relined the inner surface of the bearings we manufactured years ago, allowing for significant savings in time and costs for our Coast Guard. Straight to the point as usual here in Caravel!!!
