MDM Team participated with Marina Militare CSSN Center for Support and Experimention to the in Portugal, Sesimbra.

During these two weeks of experimentation, we supported the Italian Navy in performing MCM operations with Zeno AUV. Using our unmanned system we were able to detect locate and classify objects lying on the seabed. In this video we reported the result of a small acoustic survey, including detection with sidescan sonar, localization using real-time mosaicing and data gathering (for classification) using video camera and the ability of the vehicle to perform precise navigation survey and dynamic positioning in presence of sea current. We would like to thank both CSSN and the Italian Navy for the great support and the opportunity to work together towards this result. In addition, we would like to thanks the CMS group of Leonardo for the synergic work that lead us, during the two weeks, to have the opportunity to perform MCM tasks directly orchestrated by their systems located both in Portugal Sesimbra and Italy Taranto. Has been a wonderful experience that provided us meaningful inputs to develop innovative technology to improve such a complex maritime operation even further.

We spent almost a month during September running Sea trial and data acquisition with NATO CMRE.
Being on the field with our Zeno AUV, collecting hundreds of gigabyte of data from cameras, acoustic sonars of different sort,
discussing results with scientist has been truly exciting.

Having almost a month of fully operational conditions, rapidly planning mission, executing data collection autonomously and
looking at data in real time, has been a great joy. Finally, receiving many positive feedbacks from people used to operate
world class AUV has been satisfactory and rewarding.

I believe it is time to show, with a video, what you, with the support of our Zeno AUV, could do for real in an operative scenario ;)

It took one hour and an half to scan the wide area and detect the objects. After this procedure, we moved into the desired location
to inspect the objects. For each one, we took two relevant points on the map (using our interface is straightforward), one for the camera
(circle center) and one with the sonar in high frequency (for the radius). Planning and executing an orbital maneuver takes no more
than 5 minutes. I leave you to the video to get your feedback on the results :)

It is exciting to see our new product getting attention at this event. We uncover our micro AUV Stok, the next generation platform to enable swarm and low cost Maritime operations. This will never happen without the effort of our fantastic technical group, because this vehicle is a puzzle of efforts, it is the result of perfectionism and attention to every single detail. Because the MDM Team is more then the sum of the individuals :)

MDM Team is constantly focusing on improving user experience for complex marine operations. In fact gathering and processing data during sea trial, if done correctly, could easily save time and money. With this goal in mind we are proud to present you the new way of performing fast real time acoustic geo-referenced mosaicing based on side scan sonar measurements.

With Zeno AUV, our hybrid AUV/ROV, you can easily scan, detect and inspect underwater areas with great efficiency and user-friendlyness.
