🌉 The Transnational Workshop of Bim4ce, funded by Interreg Central Europe, was a great success — bringing together policymakers, solution providers, municipalities, and infrastructure owners from across Central Europe and beyond.

Our standardized and cost-effective bridge monitoring solution was presented and showcased on local public TV, highlighting how innovation and collaboration can strengthen digital infrastructure management.

BIM4CE Transnational Workshop in Ljubljana

From 3 to 5 March 2026, the BIM4CE Transnational Workshop was held in Ljubljana and online, bringing together partners and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond for three days of exchange, collaboration, and strategic discussion on the future of digital innovation in infrastructure management.

A central goal of the workshop was to deliver a presentation addressing decision-makers at the local, national, and European levels, highlighting the importance of innovative approaches to infrastructure management and the value of transnational cooperation in strengthening resilience and sustainability.

The first day featured the workshop “From failure to knowledge: lessons learned from recent bridge collapses”, which focused on infrastructure management. The session explored how lessons from past bridge failures can help improve future bridge management practices and support more informed decision-making.

The event provided an important platform for sharing expertise, strengthening collaboration among project partners and stakeholders, and reflecting on the future impact of BIM4CE. It proved to be a great success.
On the second day, the project consortium took a deep dive into the technical aspects of the standardized bridge monitoring solution and addressed stakeholders’ needs by presenting the BIM4CE solution and its step-by-step development over the past three years.
The final day was dedicated to reporting matters and planning future cooperation beyond the project’s conclusion.

A heartfelt thank you to CESTEL and ZAG for their outstanding hospitality, and to all speakers, partners, and Interreg Central Europe for funding the BIM4CE project, fostering cooperation across Europe, and making such a unifying event possible.

We are pleased to announce that the BIM4CE Transnational Workshop and consortium meetings will be held from 3 to 5 March 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, hosted at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel on Bratislavska cesta 8

Over three days, partners and experts from across Central Europe will gather to discuss infrastructure management, lessons learned from recent bridge collapses, and progress within the BIM4CE project. The programme includes keynote presentations, consortium meetings, and opportunities for networking in one of Europe’s greenest and most welcoming capitals.

The first day will be dedicated to the Workshop – From Failure to Knowledge: Lessons Learned from Recent Bridge Collapses and the other days for lessons learned, and BIM4CE solution introduction.

BIM4CE Transnational Workshop on 9–10 December 2025 in Düsseldorf

The crisp winter air, the glow of festive lights, and the charm of the Düsseldorf Christmas Markets created the perfect atmosphere for collaboration and exchange.

Day one opened with project progress updates, hands‑on insights from pilot site installations, and dynamic strategy conversations on business planning and market entry. On day two, the focus shifted to financial management, reporting, and communication strategies, before concluding with preparations for the grand final event in Ljubljana.

BIM4CE Project Meeting – Turin, 11–12 June 2025

On 11th and 12th June, CSP hosted the BIM4CE project meeting at Palazzina Geisser, right across from the Polytechnic of Torino. Project partners, stakeholders, and experts gathered to introduce themselves and share interesting insights.

The agenda featured updates on the state of the art of the WPs, followed by a field visit to the Sant’Ambrogio Bridge, the Italian pilot case.

📊 Day two focused on financial management, project reporting, and refining our communication and dissemination strategy.

Great energy, valuable exchanges, and teamwork!

📅 Between February 13 and 17, Cestel installed a weigh-in-motion system (WIM) and 14 accelerometers at the Tomačevo Bridge. The installation of the leakage sensor is planned for next month. The WIM system was calibrated on March 6, and we are currently integrating the data into the digital twin model.

🌉 The Tomačevo Bridge, a crucial link over the Sava River, connects Ljubljana with its northern suburbs and is crossed daily by thousands of commuters and heavy vehicles.

We are excited about the progress and look forward to enhancing the bridge's infrastructure and safety. Stay tuned to follow activities!

partners TUD - Technische Universität Dresden - and Schüßler-Plan Digital attended "BAU Messe 2025" in Munich, European reference fair for the construction, building materials and systems sector, engaging with associated partners and potential stakeholders from the civil infrastructure sector.

Some of them will be joining our next consortium meeting in Turin, Italy on March 19–20.
