The Company's aim is to expand scientific knowledge and to progress technology through invention, design and efficient production of innovative devices.

Phase Motion Control was founded in 1985 specialized in innovative motion control components and solutions, both electronic and electromechanical, reciprocally optimized to move forward the boundary of achievable performance in automation. The Company was started in 1985 as the motion control division of Phase S.r.l., from which it separated in 1994. In 1992 PMC starts the production of standard s

ervomotor named Ultract to OEM needs. The new version of standard servo motor range named ULIII is released in 2004. (General Purpose Market). The development is dragged from a high innovation technology with important manufacturing patents; leaves in 1994 the manufacturing license to SBC (later ELAU). In 1998 PMC starts producing the series of Wave™ linear motors without cooling. In 1998 PMC develops and manufactures the first series of Direct Drive Permanent Magnet motors named TK. This type of motor was used mainly in the Machine Tools Market (Rotary Table Axis); afterwords will be used also to pilot the spindle (Milling and Turning). In 2002 PMC starts to work on the Special Drives (DD PM with electronic integrated) for the ALMA radio telescope, the first truly global cooperation in pure research involving both Europe and the U.S. in the realization on a plateau in the Atacama desert of the largest radio telescope in the world, over a period of 10 years. In 2002 PMC announces the shipment of the first beta releases of TW Systems (“intelligent motor” with built-in drive, CANopen link, position controller) to a few selected partners/Customers for field testing; the production will start in 4Q2002. This type of motor was used mainly in the Machine Tools Market (Rotary Table Axis); afterwards will be used also to pilot the spindle (Milling and Turning). In 2007 the new TK-D direct-drive low-speed generators reach 97.5% conversion efficiency at 300 kW, 250 rpm.TK-D low speed, direct drive PM generators, with 1.15 m diameter, have been tested in a mini hydro application on a variable speed turbine operating over the 230-280 rpm speed range, at 300 kW output
(Power generation Market). In 2008 PMC designed and is commissioning one of the largest roofs mounted (2.05 MW - photovoltaic power plant), grid-connected photovoltaic plants in Europe. The plant covers the 40,000 SQ
meter roof of an existing logistic hub located in Casella, northern Italy.

🚀 Phase accelera sull’innovazione: motori per droni navali e subacquei

Phase si concentra sempre di più sullo sviluppo di motori elettrici avanzati per droni navali e subacquei, un settore strategico in forte espansione.

L’azienda genovese, specializzata nell’elettronica di potenza, sta investendo con decisione nella mobilità elettrica marina e nella robotica subacquea, ambiti dove la domanda è in crescita sia nel settore civile che militare.

📊 Nel business plan sono previsti circa 12 milioni di euro di investimenti, con l’obiettivo di raddoppiare entro il 2027.

🌊 Il comparto subacqueo è considerato sempre più strategico: i droni non sono solo strumenti di ricerca, ma vere e proprie piattaforme operative per sicurezza, monitoraggio e industria.

🤖 Parallelamente, Phase guarda anche alla robotica umanoide, ampliando il proprio raggio d’azione verso nuove applicazioni tecnologiche.

Un percorso che conferma la volontà dell’azienda di posizionarsi come protagonista nell’elettrificazione e nell’innovazione dei sistemi avanzati.

🌞 Un anno di energia solare: i risultati dopo i primi 12 mesi 🌱

Con la fine di marzo 2025, celebriamo il primo anniversario dall'installazione dei nostri pannelli solari da 500 kW, un passo significativo nella nostra transizione energetica.

🔋 Risultati in numeri:

460 MWh prodotti nei primi 12 mesi dall'installazione (fino a fine marzo 2025).

30 MWh già generati a marzo 2025.

69 MWh prodotti da inizio 2025, un ottimo inizio per il nuovo anno!

Questi numeri non solo rappresentano un importante contributo alla sostenibilità ma anche un esempio concreto di economia circolare in azione.
