The private residence on Lake Maggiore designed by BergmeisterWolf Architects is conceived as a rigorous and essential architectural statement, establishing a precise and measured dialogue with the lakeside landscape. The project adopts a contemporary language in which exposed concrete and structural clarity become the defining elements of its identity.

The building is characterized by immaculately finished fair faced concrete surfaces, executed with extreme precision to ensure material continuity, durability, and refined visual quality. Concrete is employed not merely as a structural material but as an architectural medium, giving the house a monolithic, restrained presence that reinforces the relationship between form, structure, and landscape.

A high-altitude infrastructure connecting Courmayeur to Punta Helbronner, where advanced engineering meets extraordinary panoramic landscapes.

At high altitude, the new Punta Helbronner station represents the pinnacle of the project: positioned at 3,500 metres, it allows visitors to experience the Mont Blanc massif at close range and offers a unique panoramic experience. The entire installation merges advanced technology, contemporary architecture and profound respect for the natural setting, redefining both access to and enjoyment of the Alpine landscape.

At HB, transforming structural concepts into buildable solutions requires precision, technical expertise, and continuous collaboration. This is where Gruber Jakob plays an essential role in the development of our projects.

Starting from the geometric specifications provided by project designers and the structural calculations prepared by our engineers, Jakob develops detailed formwork and reinforcement drawings for construction. Using advanced 3D modelling software, he digitally recreates entire structures, including every reinforcement detail, providing the basis for accurate drawings and reinforcement schedules used directly on site.

Ongoing coordination with engineers and project designers is a key part of this process. As each project evolves, models and drawings are carefully updated to ensure that construction teams always have access to precise and up-to-date information.

Through his technical expertise, attention to detail, and collaborative approach, Jakob contributes to turning complex engineering designs into reliable and successfully executed construction projects.

A sustainable timber kindergarten, conceived as a small village organized around a central light-filled patio, in dialogue with the CityLife urban park.

Within the large CityLife urban park, a 173,000 m² green area, stands a kindergarten mainly built in timber, whose construction began in 2017 and occupies a total volume of 6,000 m³. Immersed in approximately 3,000 m² of protected garden, the building offers an innovative interpretation of the school typology: the main volume is broken down into a series of small “houses” connected by a central glazed patio, which serves as the bright, communal heart of the complex.

infobuild.it dedicates an in-depth article to CityWave in Milan, exploring the engineering complexity behind one of the most distinctive elements of the project: the suspended canopy connecting the two main buildings of the new CityLife Milano development.

The article looks closely at the structural challenges behind this 140-metre free span canopy, built with five crossed layers of X-LAM panels and integrated steel cables. A system that required analytical design, testing and continuous monitoring, in order to bring the architectural vision as close as possible to its final built form.

Within this context, HB is mentioned for its role in the structural and geotechnical design of the project, with Marco Righi contributing to the technical narration of a solution that brings together timber, steel, concrete and advanced engineering into a single structural organism.
