When aluminum scrap needs alloy-level sorting, density is not enough.

One crane. Multiple handling needs.

In some steel plants, the same crane must handle different products, different dimensions and different operating cycles. A single fixed lifting configuration can limit flexibility and slow down operations.

The SGM multi-beam solution is designed for these situations.

A master spreader beam can be connected to different slave spreader beams, each equipped with the magnet configuration required for a specific application.

Pipe handling requires balance, stability and a lifting system designed around the geometry of the load.

Pipes can vary in diameter, length, wall thickness and bundle configuration. This makes magnetic lifting a valuable solution when the goal is to improve handling speed while reducing manual operations and contact-related risks.
SGM designs pipe handling systems according to the customer’s material, crane configuration and operating area.

Slab handling leaves no room for approximation.

Weight, air gap, surface condition, load deformation, temperature and magnet positioning all influence the safety of the lift.

That is why SGM sizes each slab handling solution according to the customer’s application data and the worst lifting conditions of the load.
For cold slabs, electro-permanent magnets are often the best choice: they hold the load even in case of cable interruption, do not require battery backup and consume no energy during the lifting phase.
Combined with the SGM Flux Measuring Device, the system gives the operator clear information about the lifting condition before the load is moved.

For the customer, this means higher safety, predictable performance and a lifting system designed for real working conditions, not ideal ones.

When steel handling needs mobility, the lifting system must be engineered differently.

Forklifts, reach stackers and special steel-handling vehicles operate in more dynamic conditions than overhead cranes: acceleration, braking, uneven ground, steering forces and limited visibility can all affect the stability of the load.

For this reason, SGM designs magnetic lifting systems around the vehicle, the material and the real working cycle.
The system can include spreader beam, EM or EPR magnets, power generation unit, control system, safety devices and driver interface.
