Final day at EXPOSIBRAM 2026 — and the floor is packed.

Three days of non-stop conversations at Expominas BH, Belo Horizonte. Mining operators, EPCs, plant managers — all arriving with the same problem.

Because mining today is under pressure from three sides at once.

Water is scarce, and every litre lost in tailings is a litre that has to be bought back. Ore grades are falling, which means finer particles and slurries that are harder than ever to dewater. And regulation — GISTM, ANM Resolution 220/2025 — is closing the door on conventional tailings dams.

The industry needs dewatering that actually performs. Not on paper. On site, 24/7, on the toughest material.

That's what Matec builds.

Our high-performance filter presses operate up to 21 bar. That pressure is what makes the difference on fine, high-clay, hard-to-treat slurries: it produces a genuinely dry, stackable cake and sends clean water straight back into the process.

Iron ore. Gold. Copper. Bauxite. Lithium. Phosphate. Coal. Industrial minerals. One technology, engineered to work across every one of them.

The outcome for the operation: safer tailings management, drastically reduced water consumption, lower handling and transport costs, and a plant built to the standards regulators are enforcing now.

Today is the last day. Stand Y90, Y91, Expominas BH — open until 8 pm. Our team is on site to discuss your material, your throughput and your dewatering targets. Don't leave Belo Horizonte without stopping by.

In Italy 🇮🇹, Matec technology is supporting the stainless steel industry with a high-performance solution for slag treatment, combining efficient thickening and advanced sludge dewatering.

At the heart of the installation is an 18 m High-Rate Thickener, designed to handle up to 65 t/h of dry solids, with an overflow solids content of less than 50 ppm and an underflow density exceeding 50% solids. Depending on the process units in operation, the system manages liquid flows ranging from 200 to 700 m³/h.

The process is completed by a Matec 2000x2000 filter press, operating at 16 bar and handling feed slurries with 35–55% solids. After filtration, the resulting filter cake reaches around 80–85% solids.

With over 3,000 filtration cycles, this filter press has demonstrated long-term reliability in demanding industrial conditions. The installation also features dedicated customizations, including Cake Dryer, Real Wash and Robo Wash, further enhancing performance and operational efficiency.

At Matec, we design complete dewatering solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each industrial process — helping our customers recover resources, optimize water management and improve the efficiency of their operations.

The plant featured here, installed in Türkiye 🇹🇷, is designed to treat chromium tailings, processing approximately 60 t/h of solid feed and recycling up to 150 m³/h of water.

The material processed is mainly composed of dunite, serpentine, and magnesite, with a particle size of less than 150 µm. Operating at a pressure between 14 and 16 bar, the Matec filter press produces filter cakes with a residual moisture content between 18% and 20%.

Designed for continuous operation, the plant runs 24 hours a day, with each filtration cycle taking approximately 30 minutes — delivering reliable dewatering performance for demanding mining applications.

By maximizing water recovery and efficiently dewatering tailings, Matec technology helps optimize resource management, reduce freshwater consumption, and support more sustainable mining operations.

At Matec, every installation is more than a machine. It is a commitment to delivering reliable technologies that combine performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

Reliable performance starts with controlled manufacturing processes.

UNI EN ISO 3834-2 defines the most comprehensive quality requirements for the fusion welding of metallic materials.

This certification confirms Matec’s structured approach to welding activities, including qualified personnel and procedures, material control, inspections, traceability and technical coordination.

For our customers and partners, it represents an additional guarantee of consistency, durability and reliability across the components and technologies manufactured in-house.

Because every weld contributes to the long-term performance of the complete plant.

Located in Angren, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿, this Matec installation is designed for the treatment of kaolin, a very fine material that requires reliable and precise dewatering performance.

The plant recycles up to 80% of the process water, while the filter press produces filter cakes with a residual moisture content of approximately 20–23%. Each cycle treats between 5.5 and 6 tonnes of material, with a cycle time ranging from 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Operating at a pressure of 18–20 bar and for approximately 12 hours per day, the filter press provides the continuous performance required to efficiently manage kaolin processing.

A key feature of this installation is the use of specially customized filter cloths, designed to minimize material losses during the filtration process. Combined with a Soft customized configuration, this solution is tailored to the specific characteristics of the material and the operational requirements of the plant.

At Matec, every application starts from understanding the material and the process. By combining high-performance filtration technology with customized solutions, we help our customers recover water, reduce material losses, and optimize their operations.

The plant featured here, installed in Minas Gerais, Brazil 🇧🇷, treats iron ore tailings with a processing capacity of approximately 150 tph, recovering around 360 m³/h of water while producing filter cakes with a residual moisture content of less than 20%.

Designed to operate at 16 bar, the Matec filter press delivers the reliability and efficiency required for continuous mining operations, helping reduce freshwater consumption and optimize tailings management.

This installation is also part of a long-standing collaboration with the SM Metais Group, which has chosen Matec technology across multiple operations, with additional filter presses installed at MML and MIG. A partnership built on trust, performance, and proven results.

At Matec, every installation is more than a machine. It is a commitment to supporting mining companies with reliable technologies that improve operational efficiency and contribute to a more sustainable future.

05/08/2026

Safety is an essential part of responsible industrial performance.

ISO 45001 confirms Matec’s structured approach to occupational health and safety, based on risk prevention, continuous improvement and the active protection of everyone involved in our operations.

This certification reflects our commitment to maintaining safe working environments, clearly defined procedures and a strong safety culture across every area of the company.

Because reliable technologies can only be created through responsible processes and workplaces where people are protected every day.

At Matec, plant performance is not simply a technical objective. It is one of the principles that guides every stage of our work, from engineering and manufacturing to installation and long-term operation.

Our customers rely on our technologies to manage complex processes, achieve demanding production targets and maintain reliable performance over time. For this reason, continuous improvement, research and technical development are central to the way we design our solutions.

The appointment of Simone Giardinieri as Head of the Technical Department is fully aligned with this vision.

In his new role, Simone will lead the optimization of our engineering and design processes, while helping to strengthen a structured Research & Development path focused on the evolution of Matec technologies.

The objective is clear: to consolidate the know-how developed through years of experience in the field, continuously improve our existing machines and develop new products capable of responding to increasingly complex industrial challenges.

Engineering, production experience, customer feedback and market requirements must work together to generate measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, productivity and ease of operation.

Placing a figure such as Simone at the head of the Technical Department therefore represents more than an organizational development. It confirms Matec’s commitment to making performance, innovation and continuous technological evolution increasingly central to our future.
