🌍 Road to the 40th ISOC: A Journey of Excellence 🌍

🏅 We're proud to share that on October 31st 𝐓𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢 and Isabella Branca were honored with the Milano Ambassador Programme 2023 Award! A deserved prize in recognition of the initiative to candidate Milan as the host for the 𝐂𝐈’𝐬 40𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 - 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (July 21st to 26th, 2024).

On December 2nd, our teammate Luna Pratali Maffei has been awarded the PhD cm laude in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, after a successful defense of her thesis "Theoretical and kinetic modeling of the combustion of aromatic hydrocarbons".
A thorough and comprehensive work, performed tirelessly under the supervision of Prof. Tiziano Faravelli, and including a visiting period at Argonne National Laboratory.

Congratulations Luna, and all the best for your promising career!

On September 19th, Prof. Alberto Cuoci received the award as the fastest employee of Politecnico di Milano at the Polimi Run Spring 2021 (10 km), crossing the finish line in 40 minutes and 8 seconds. To infinity and beyond!

Starting May 1st, Alberto Cuoci will join the Institut für Technische Verbrennung - RWTH Aachen, as an Alexander von Humboldt Experienced Researcher: 18 months in the next 3 years, working on the numerical modeling of particle size distribution and morphology of carbonaceous nanoparticles in reactive flows.
