After a busy first half of the year, we are already looking ahead to the next industry events this autumn.

📍 First stop: CPHI 2026 returns to Italy.
From October 6 to 8, we will be in Milan at CPHI 2026, inside the Packaging Zone (Booth 11D133), to discuss sterile packaging solutions developed for pharmaceutical applications.

📍 Then, from November 16 to 19, we will be in Düsseldorf for COMPAMED 2026, one of the key events dedicated to medical technology and healthcare manufacturing. At Booth 8AN14, we will present our packaging solutions developed for medical applications.

These events are always an opportunity to meet customers, exchange ideas, discuss new projects and explore how packaging requirements are evolving across the industry.

Si chiude una stagione di lavoro intenso… ed è il momento di concedersi una pausa! ☀️

Prima di partire per le vacanze abbiamo voluto fare quello che ci riesce meglio: stare insieme. La nostra festa estiva è stata molto più di un semplice evento: è stato un momento per ridere, conoscerci ancora meglio, fare squadra e ricaricare le energie.

🏅 A new milestone for Encaplast®

We are pleased to announce that Encaplast® has achieved ISCC PLUS Certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification).

ISCC PLUS is a voluntary certification standard that supports the transition towards a circular economy and bioeconomy by validating the sustainability characteristics of alternative feedstocks throughout the supply chain.

This certification enables us to support customers seeking packaging manufactured using ISCC PLUS-certified raw materials through the Mass Balance approach, with traceability throughout the ISCC PLUS-certified supply chain.

At the same time, we have successfully renewed the certifications of our quality management system:

A customer arrives with a device that looks simple at first glance.

Freeze-drying processes place specific demands on packaging materials and design.

Bottle Bags are developed to support lyophilisation applications by combining a breathable Tyvek® side with a transparent film structure. This configuration allows water vapour to transpire during the process while helping to maintain product protection.

The design also includes a dedicated bottle-cone shape that can help operators during handling and may reduce product retention in the corners during discharge after freeze-drying.

Key features include:

“What is the most sustainable material?”

✅ In medical packaging, the better question is often:
“For which application?”

♻️ A material can be recyclable, lightweight or monomaterial. Yet the real decision starts from the product it has to protect, the sterilisation process, the required barrier, the mechanical resistance and the expected shelf life.

A packaging solution for a sharp device has different needs from a pouch for a lightweight component.
A sterile barrier system for EtO sterilisation follows different design criteria from a solution intended for gamma irradiation.
A material reduction project has to consider the whole system: structure, format, geometry, sealing and handling.

A sterile package can protect perfectly and still slow down the person opening it.

In the operating room, every movement matters. The way a package opens, the direction of the peel, the shape of the seal and the stability of the device inside the pouch can influence how smoothly the sterile field is prepared.

This is why usability starts from design:
✔️ An easy-peel opening helps the operator access the device with controlled movement and reduces the risk of accidental contamination during opening.
✔️ A Full Flat Seal can provide a stable and continuous sealing area suitable for specific packaging configurations.
✔️ A Multiline Seal can support seal strength and may help guide the opening direction in certain laminated configurations.
✔️ A Full V Seal can improve grip and provide a clearer opening direction due to its V-shaped geometry.
