From stock to ship: a 250 kW emergency delivery for the cruise industry

When a leading cruise industry client contacted us with an urgent request for a critical onboard service, the requirement was clear: a 250 kW electric motor, weighing approximately 2 tons, had to be sourced and delivered in the shortest possible time.

Thanks to the strong collaboration with our trusted partner , we had a motor with the same technical specifications already available in stock, ready for immediate dispatch.

The unit was quickly secured inside a heavy-duty wooden transport crate and delivered to the vessel through a dedicated transport service, ensuring the ship could proceed with its operations without delay.

Two years ago, we set sail on a new journey.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the 2nd anniversary of PLC-Marine — our business unit dedicated to marine electrical and automation.

We marked this milestone simultaneously in two places: the PLC-Marine team at our operational headquarters in Monte di Procida, and our service engineers in the field, celebrating during a dry-dock project intervention. Different locations, one shared vision.

In just two years, we have grown, embraced new challenges, delivered innovative solutions, and strengthened valuable partnerships across the naval industry. We continue working hard every day to improve and evolve — becoming better and better as your hi-tech partner PLC Marine.

🇬🇧⚓️🚢 "Not Just Containers. Raw Materials Logistics for the Country's Development" is the title of the conference organized by the Port Authority of the Central-Northern Adriatic Sea and the National Observatory for the Protection of the Sea, which we attended today at the Chamber of Deputies.

🤝🏻 After official greetings from the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida; the President of the 9th Commission for Transport, Post, and Telecommunications, Salvatore Deidda; the Commander General of the Port Authorities, Admiral Sergio Liardo; and the Mayor of Ravenna, Alessandro Barattoni, the conference focused on the revitalization of bulk traffic. Specifically, two studies were presented: "The Development of the Bulk Sector in Italy: Port Trends and Scenarios," by SRM, and "Raw Materials: Strategic Assets for the Creation of Value and the Competitiveness of the Country System," by Steller Group.

📉 Today's debate confirmed how raw materials logistics represents a strategic hub for our country's competitiveness, resilience, and industrial development. It's not just about port traffic, but about vision, planning, and the ability to work collaboratively.

🇬🇧 We are pleased to share our visit to our partner Electro Adda S.p.A., a leading Italian manufacturer of electric motors.

It was an important opportunity for technical discussions with a company that shares our commitment to innovation, reliability, and Made in Italy engineering quality. During the tour of the facilities and production line, we were able to experience firsthand the high level of manufacturing quality and materials used.

Electro Adda is a leading supplier of electric motors for marine applications, and it was a pleasure to introduce ourselves as a technological partner, strengthening a solid and concrete collaboration. The presence of a highly respected guest—a representative and electrical inspector for a leading cruise operator—made the meeting even more meaningful.

In the afternoon, we also had the honor of visiting the facilities of another of our partners, CEMP, a leader in ATEX electric motors and a byword for the highest Made in Italy quality for decades. CEMP is now part of the WEG Group, a global leader in the sector. Sincere thanks to the CEMP team for their hospitality and availability.

🎶 The notes were reproduced in D major RV93 by Antonio Vivaldi and the Guitar Quintet No. 6 G448 by Luigi Boccherini, performed together with a prestigious string quartet composed of maestros Sergio Carnevale and Isabella Parmiciano on violins, Tiziana Traverso on viola and Gianpaolo Nigro on cello, with the participation of Dominga Andrias.

📜 During the evening, the Consulate's development cooperation projects, aimed at improving the living conditions of the Beninese population, were also presented. These initiatives were made possible thanks to the 💪🏻 support and active commitment of Andrea and Maria De Lillo.
