Back to 1967! 🏁

A huge thank you to .racing for putting our 3DRap Mod. 49 Vintage Formula Rim to the test and bringing it back to where it belongs: behind the wheel of a 1967 Formula 1 car!

Our Mod. 49 is inspired by the steering wheel of the legendary Lotus 49 driven by Jim Clark, with dimensions and geometry designed to stay faithful to the original. It features a 280 mm diameter, a 4 mm 6082 aluminium frame and hand-stitched grips, combining the spirit of classic Formula 1 with modern sim racing hardware.

Watching it being used for a full 1967 championship experience in Automobilista 2 is exactly what our Vintage Collection was created for: bringing iconic motorsport history back to life through sim racing.

More than three decades later, that lap is still remembered as the fastest ever recorded around Pembrey Circuit — set during a fascinating McLaren test with the experimental MP4/8B powered by a Lamborghini V12.

But the Senna–McLaren story at Pembrey had started years earlier, in the era of one of Formula 1’s most iconic machines: the MP4/4.

🇬🇧 3DRap is heading to Oxford for DRiVE 2026! 🏁

We’re proud to announce that on November 28th, we’ll be at Oxford Brookes University as exhibitors at DRiVE 2026, an event organised by Quatermass Motorsport with the support of Motorsport UK, dedicated to disability, accessibility and new opportunities in Sim Racing.

We’ll be bringing with us one of the projects that best represents what we believe in: the 3DRap Hand Controller HC1, our controller designed to enable people who cannot use their legs to control throttle and brake directly with one hand.

A project created to make Sim Racing more accessible, which has achieved some important milestones over the years:

🏆 Start Up Evolution Award – Lamura/DFL, an initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting innovative startups and projects.

🥉 Innovation 4.0 Award – A&T Turin, presented as part of the Italian trade show dedicated to automation, testing and Industry 4.0 technologies.

🎮 And then Microsoft and Forza Horizon 5, with official support for our Hand Controller.

Now, the next stop is Oxford, where we’ll have the opportunity to share the story behind the project, demonstrate it in person and meet people and organisations working to make virtual motorsport increasingly accessible.

Because innovation in Sim Racing isn’t just about going faster.
It’s also about giving more people the opportunity to get on the starting grid. 💜
