Cormatex

Cormatex Cormatex manufactures machinery for woollen spinning and nonwovens. Cormatex is a textile machinery manufacturer operating world wide since 1938.

With 85+ years of experience, we deliver tailor-made solutions, support product innovation, and transform waste into resources through our R&D Center and special Airlay technology. Over the years we specialized our production in the following sectors:
- Carding and spinning technologies for woollen yarn, especially fine knitting yarn including cashmere, angora, camel hair and their blends with fin

e wool (brand-new and fully reconditioned machinery).
- Nonwovens production lines including fibre opening and blending systems, fine openers, card feeding systems, high production cards & cross lappers, airlay systems, cutting and wind-up systems. Research is much more than a way to develop new technologies, it is the path to walk together to our customers. Testing is much more than a way to improve your knowledge, it is our tool to develop customized solutions. A project to be developed in cooperation with our customers is much more than a challenge for success, it is our passion.

On World Environment Day, we celebrate an approach that has guided Cormatex’s philosophy for over 15 years: contributing to the principles of the circular economy by supporting the reuse of waste and end-of-life materials in industrial production.

Every resource has specific characteristics. Giving it new value means analysing its properties, testing its behaviour and developing a process built around the final application and the required performance.

Through Airlay technology, we develop solutions that can help reduce environmental impact in sectors such as textiles, construction, automotive, packaging and furniture.

For us, sustainability means creating solutions that make recycling possible on an industrial scale, transforming waste materials into new products for different sectors.

Meet us at ITM Istanbul 2026.

ITM is an international exhibition where textile manufacturers connect with machinery suppliers and technology providers from across Europe, Asia and beyond.

For Cormatex, it will be an opportunity to meet partners and customers working on recycled or virgin materials processing, interested in producing nonwoven products for new industrial applications.

From the analysis of raw materials to the development of tailored production processes and machinery, each project is built around specific requirements and final material performance.

Being recognized within a publication dedicated to sustainable fashion is always meaningful.

Cormatex has been mentioned in the volume “Ecofashion Design. Progettare per un sistema moda sostenibile” as a virtuous example of sustainability in the textile industry.

🙏 A special thanks to Claudia Morea for including us in this publication.

Recovering and recycling MDF scraps from furniture waste to transform them into bio-based insulation materials for the construction sector: this is the goal of the “MDF to Insulation” project.

Within this research and development initiative, co-funded by Ecomaison, the material is processed with an innovative technology that extracts recycled wood fiber and make them suitable for the production of thermal and acoustic insulation materials.

The consortium is composed of MDF Recovery, Soprema and Cormatex, with complementary expertise covering the entire value chain: from the supply and treatment of recycled MDF, to the development of the insulation product, through to process technologies.

After a phase of testing and technical validation, the project now reaches its final meeting, scheduled for May 19 in Golbey, dedicated to the final evaluation of results and future industrial perspectives.

A concluding step in a development path focused on turning material recovery into concrete industrial applications.

The construction sector today requires materials capable of combining technical performance with sustainability.

🤝 Within the European project Ecofunc, supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking and its members, this objective takes shape through the development of recyclable panels made from PHA, designed for applications such as ventilated façades, ceiling tiles and internal partition walls.

Cormatex contributes with its expertise in nonwoven technologies, working on the transformation process that enables this material to be translated into concrete applications.

On May 12–13, at the Centexbel headquarters in Kortrijk, project partners will meet to share progress across the different Work Packages and align on the next development steps.

A moment of discussion that supports a path already focused on the development of sustainable industrial solutions. ♻️
