Cormatex Cormatex manufactures machinery for woollen spinning and nonwovens. Cormatex is a textile machinery manufacturer operating world wide since 1938.

With 85+ years of experience, we deliver tailor-made solutions, support product innovation, and transform waste into resources through our R&D Center and special Airlay technology. Over the years we specialized our production in the following sectors:
- Carding and spinning technologies for woollen yarn, especially fine knitting yarn including cashmere, angora, camel hair and their blends with fin

e wool (brand-new and fully reconditioned machinery).
- Nonwovens production lines including fibre opening and blending systems, fine openers, card feeding systems, high production cards & cross lappers, airlay systems, cutting and wind-up systems. Research is much more than a way to develop new technologies, it is the path to walk together to our customers. Testing is much more than a way to improve your knowledge, it is our tool to develop customized solutions. A project to be developed in cooperation with our customers is much more than a challenge for success, it is our passion.

Fondata nel 1938, Cormatex è un’azienda costruttrice di macchinari tessili operante a livello globale. Negli anni abbiamo diversificato la nostra produzione, specializzandoci nei seguenti settori:
- Filatura cardata: macchinario nuovo o usato ricondizionato, specialmente per la produzione di filati a titolo fine per maglieria con impiego di fibre nobili come cashmere, angora, ca****lo, in puro o in mista con lana fine.
- Tessuto non tessuto: sistemi di preparazione della fibra, apritoi in fino, sistemi di alimentazione carde, carde e faldatori, sistemi airlay, sistemi di taglio e arrotolatura. Per noi, fare ricerca è molto più che un modo per sviluppare nuove tecnologie, è la strada da percorrere insieme ai nostri clienti. Sperimentare è molto più che un modo per conoscere, è il nostro strumento per creare soluzioni. Un progetto da sviluppare in collaborazione con i nostri clienti è molto più di una sfida per il successo, è la nostra passione.

Thanks to the experience gained alongside the textile industry and the research activities carried out in our laboratory, the Cormatex technical team has developed in-depth expertise not only in mechanical engineering, but also in the study of fibres and different textile processes.

This allows us to support customers in the development of new projects with different objectives:

• enhance waste materials of different origins, both textile and non-textile;
• develop new high-performance products at competitive costs;
• identify new applications or improve specific technical characteristics of products already available on the market.

Over the years, we have tested fibres and materials with very different characteristics. This experience enables our engineers to combine expertise from different sectors and leverage the potential of our Airlay systems to develop innovative technical textiles with specific properties.

Material consulting thus becomes the starting point for defining, together with the customer, the process and solution best suited to the desired result.

In the nonwoven sector, the value of a solution does not depend solely on the material used, but on the ability to define how that material behaves within the process and in relation to its final application.

Cormatex’s know-how is based on the understanding of fibres, the ability to design tailored processes, and the development of solutions built around specific application requirements. This is complemented by testing and experimentation activities carried out together with the customer, allowing the behaviour of materials to be evaluated under real processing conditions.

This results in a system where material, process, and final solution are interpreted as a single entity, developed and optimised in a coordinated way.

Nonwoven fabrics are obtained through industrial processes that transform natural, synthetic or recycled fibres, depending on the final application.

The result is a material used across multiple industrial sectors: automotive, construction, filtration, packaging, hygiene, agriculture, furniture and many others.

In this context, we have developed several technologies that enable the use of nonwoven fabrics across different application sectors, delivering high-performance solutions aligned with market requirements.

For Cormatex, sustainability means developing industrial solutions capable of reducing waste and enhancing materials within new production processes.

We strongly believe in the circular economy: in the near future, industrial production can no longer rely solely on the consumption of virgin raw materials, but must increasingly consider the reuse of waste materials and end-of-life products.

This conviction has guided the company’s choices for the last 15 years: from the development of our special Airlay technology to the participation in national and international R&D projects dedicated to the recycling of materials that would otherwise be sent to landfill or incineration.

At Cormatex, testing is much more than a way to learn: it is a tool for creating solutions.

This is why we have developed an in-house Research and Development Laboratory, equipped with our Airlay pilot line, which integrates special technologies for the production of nonwoven fabric and ensures maximum flexibility in processing fibres and waste materials of different origins.

Each test session starts with the definition of the testing specifications and the target samples to be produced. From there, the materials required for the trials are also identified in terms of type and quantity, in order to guide the customer during the sourcing phase.

The testing activity is carried out by our technicians, preferably in the presence of the customer, to allow direct discussion of the results obtained and to optimize the process together.

In this way, the R&D Center becomes the working space where materials are analyzed, new nonwoven products and applications developed, and where the technical foundations for the transition to industrial scale are built.

High-quality recycling starts with high-quality sorting. Turning wood waste into a resource requires more than recycling: it requires the right technology.

As part of the Ecorefibre project, Dieffenbacher GmbH Maschinen- und Anlagenbau developed and validated a sorting line capable of separating wood waste into fractions suitable for manufacturing new wood-based panels.
This is a crucial step towards increasing the use of recycled wood and reducing dependence on virgin resources.

This question is more important than it may seem. Within the Ecorefibre project, L'Ecole Supérieure du Bois developed a methodology to estimate post-consumer fibreboard waste generation across Europe, providing essential data to better understand the availability of this valuable secondary raw material. These insights help create the conditions for more efficient collection, sorting and recycling systems.

Reconditioning a machine does not only mean restoring its functionality, but bringing it back to reliable and high-performing production conditions.

The shipment of this Tape Condenser is an excellent example of Cormatex’s ability to modify and recondition used carding sets, making them efficient again and suitable for the production of high-quality yarns.

Each intervention is developed starting from the current condition of the machine and the customer’s production objectives, through work that may include revision, adaptation and optimization of the component.

This is how reconditioning becomes an integral part of our way of working: not just technical support, but continuity, reliability and long-term value.

Cormatex will be present at the “Demonstration day on h**p and safflower 2026”, which will take place on Thursday, July 23, at the University of Hohenheim, in Stuttgart.

During the event, farmers, researchers, and companies will have the opportunity to explore the latest research on h**p and safflower, including varieties, cultivation techniques, and potential industrial applications.

Our representative for Germany, Mr. Fatih Bağkesen, will present “Sustainable technologies for the production of insulation materials from h**p fibers, h**p straw, and byproducts of h**p fiber production”, sharing Cormatex’s know-how in working with any kind of fibrous or non-fibrous natural raw materials to develop innovative products for various sectors.
