Exergy ORC EXERGY develop, engineer and produce Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems, with a proprietary and patented technology known as the Radial Outflow Turbine.

ORC systems are used for power production from renewable energy sources including biomass, solar, geothermal energy and waste heat recovery. They perform with greater efficiency and flexibility that traditional Rankine cycle a

nd operate under diverse conditions. EXERGY undertake the development and manufacturing process of the ORC turbine and plant internally from their headquarters in Varese (Italy). This includes R&D, testing, engineering, project management and after-sales service. 📍 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming - for the third consecutive year - a group of students from the 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 organised by the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Ambiente, del Territorio e delle Infrastrutture - DIATI of Politecnico di Torino, within their Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP).
We were also delighted to see participation rise sharply compared to previous editions, with nearly 40 students attending this year — a strong indicator of the growing interest in geothermal technologies.

Exergy remains strongly committed to supporting initiatives like this and contributing to the training of future geothermal professionals. Our contribution to the 2026 Summer School Edition included:
● A lecture by Michela Maccarana on ORC cycle and geothermal applications
● A visit to Exergy’s headquarters and workshop, giving students the opportunity to see firsthand how our technology is developed and applied.
● Company presentations, technology insights and a guided workshop tour led by our colleagues Sara Milanesi, Giorgia Ruffato and Diego Milesi.


🌱 This hands‑on experience allowed students to understand how Exergy’s technology works, ask questions, observe our products under construction and see how geothermal energy can be transformed into clean, reliable power.


After their stop at Exergy, the Summer School continues with a visit to Larderello and its geothermal plants, meeting additional partner companies supporting the program.
