🇬🇧 Based on the experience of Angelo Baggini and Franco Bua, the “milli books” published by CEI were created to address the real questions of designers and installers.

🇬🇧 In 1993, ECD (SAS) is founded and begins its activity in applied research in collaboration with the University of Pavia, as part of a major project funded by the CNR and GND. Two years later, the team expands.

Between 1996 and 1998, a new office opens in Milan with a single employee. Soon after, ECD broadens its scope to include communication and training services, starting collaborations with Pirelli and IIR. In 1998, the company launches a design project with San Paolo in Via Hoepli.

From 2001 to 2003, ECD moves to Pavia and sets up a new headquarters. During this period, it takes part in the LPQI initiative and begins working with CEI on institutional programs.

Between 2003 and 2009, the organization strengthens its structure, grows its team, and transitions from SAS to SRL. In the same years, it undertakes a key project with AEM AT.

From 2009 to 2012, ECD faces the first major wave of transformation brought by renewable energy — the grid and facilities will never be the same again.

Between 2012 and 2015, the company extends its international reach, establishing connections in China, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

From 2015 to 2018, it begins its collaboration with CNAO, one of only six centers in the world capable of providing hadron therapy with protons and carbon ions.

Between 2018 and 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hits, bringing loss and isolation, yet the team stays united thanks to a robust contingency plan.

From 2020 to 2024, ECD continues to grow and opens a new branch in Bari.

🇬🇧 The Church of San Marino is located in the historic center of Pavia.
It was founded between 749 and 756 by the Lombard king Astolfo, who placed many relics there. Reworked in the Romanesque style and enriched with Renaissance frescoes, it is today a deconsecrated building undergoing restoration, in which ECD has also taken part.

Engineering services are one of ECD’s two founding pillars. Our engineering activities began in 1995 in the electrical sector and over the past 20 years have expanded to cover other areas of plant and construction engineering.

ECD has worked on numerous projects in Italy and around the globe, meeting both the technical and economic requirements of our clients.

- Consulting:
Consulting is ECD’s other core pillar. In our vision, having both consulting and engineering services under one roof represents a significant added value.

Our consulting activities started in 1993 in the electrical sector as part of a large CNR-funded project in collaboration with the University of Pavia. Since then, ECD has participated in—and continues to participate in—a wide range of R&D projects alongside national and international industrial partners, including several initiatives funded by the European Commission.

What sets us apart is our use of highly qualified consultants within a lean organizational structure, enabling us to combine flexibility and quality to respond quickly to our clients’ needs.

An uncommon branch of consulting for an engineering firm is Technical Communication.

- Technical Communication & Training:
Technical communication and training form a dedicated division within ECD’s consulting services.

We launched these activities in 1997 in the electrical sector as part of a Power Quality outreach project with the Italian Copper Institute and Pirelli.

Since 2003, we have maintained an ongoing collaboration with the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI).

ECD has also delivered numerous traditional and new-media technical communication and training projects with a variety of national and international partners, including European Commission-sponsored programmes.

Technical communication remains a rare but organically developed service line for an engineering firm—born entirely through word of mouth.
