The new Via Brocchi School and Civic Center, that welcomed the students in september, was officialy inaugurated yesterday in Milan!
The inauguration concludes a process that began in 2016, following the Design & Build competition promoted by Comune di Milano. The project is developed by ATI Project, in collaboration with Eng. Vito Avino for safety coordination, and built by AR.CO. Lavori Scc. The process involved multiple ATI Project teams, from the competition phase through to executive design and construction, reflecting a shared and long-term commitment to educational design.
The school block is organized around a central agora, with classrooms, laboratories, and inclusive learning spaces designed to support orientation, interaction, and everyday school life. With an independent entrance, the Civic Center extends the use of the building beyond school hours, hosting cultural, sports, and social activities for the neighborhood. Outdoor areas and an accessible roof strengthen the relationship with the surrounding green spaces. The building adopts a X-lam timber and steel structure, integrates over 500 photovoltaic panels, and meets NZEB standards, ensuring high energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
