In 1954, because of the initiative of two mechanical engineers, Pietro Tanzini and Franco Viciani, Vitap was born, which from its very inception specialized in the construction of woodworking machinery, and because of the ancient tradition of furniture production in Tuscany, this provided them with the opportunity to develop prototypes which they constructed. In 1957 the first mechanical drill wit

h one head was born and this was quickly followed by other models. Then, in 1968 the multi-headed drill was put on the market. Simultaneously, tentative efforts were made to export these products which resulted in very successful sales throughout Europe in the 1970's. In the early '80's the company was reorganized, and since 1987 Vitap has launched 22 new models which have been very successful, so much so, that Vitap today exports to more than 60 countries in the world.

The first edition of Tuscany Tech has officially come to a close, and we couldn't be more proud of the results. It has been an intense journey through technology, craftsmanship, and the future of woodworking.

Over the past few days, our headquarters in Poggibonsi became a global hub for dealers, customers, and partners from all over the world. From the official visit of Mayor Susanna Cenni to live demonstrations of our Kairos and Infinity machines, the energy was incredible.

What’s next? The event is over, but our mission continues. Our Permanent Showroom remains open and ready to welcome you for personalized demos and training at the Vitap Lab.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our team for making this possible. Let’s keep shaping the future of woodworking together.

Today, April 23rd, we were honored to welcome the Mayor of Poggibonsi, Susanna Cenni, to our headquarters. The visit took place within our new Permanent Showroom during the Tuscany Tech event—a day dedicated to the future of the woodworking industry.

Since 1954, Vitap has been deeply rooted in the heart of Tuscany, and having the local authorities witness the innovation we export to nearly 80 countries is a source of great pride.

In the second photo: The Mayor observes the high-quality finishing of our Infinity contour edgebander, a machine designed to meet the most demanding standards of flexibility and precision.

We thank the Mayor for her visit and for her support of the industrial excellence that defines our community.
