After years of working with carbon fiber, Lamiflex began applying its expertise to aerospace components, starting with cable ducts for aircraft and helicopters.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟱 𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗳𝗳, expanding into new applications such as ECS ducts, shielded composite ducts for electrical cables and ballistic panels.

🏅 Today, Aerospace & Defense represents around 30% of Lamiflex's turnover, with projects involving leading industry players and NASA. In 2026, Lamiflex also achieved Nadcap® Accreditation for Composites, marking another important milestone in this journey.

✨ 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: in the mid-1990s, Lamiflex began a new chapter in its history.

Thanks to the unique properties of carbon fiber, the company embarked on a 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, exploring new fields and transforming its technical expertise into solutions for increasingly complex needs.

⚙️ From the first industrial applications to the development of radiolucent panels for X-ray equipment, carbon fiber revealed new possibilities and led Lamiflex to collaborate with important players in the medical sector.

💡 By 1990, it was clear that 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
They had become part of Lamiflex's vision.

✨ Looking back today, this was one of the first steps towards a much broader journey. The expertise developed through composites would soon open the door to new technologies, new applications and entirely new industries.

✨ 𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱-𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟬𝘀, 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

During a trade show in Tokyo, our team came across 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿, a material that combined 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

⚙️ At the time, it was something entirely new for the textile industry. For Lamiflex, however, it quickly became 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 the company had been facing for years. Lamiflex began developing a new generation of rapier tapes, leveraging carbon fiber to achieve levels of performance that had previously been difficult to imagine.

📈 Within just a few years, 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, accounting for nearly 70% of total market demand.

🚀 Looking back today, that discovery was much more than the introduction of a new material. 𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅, one that would open the door to decades of innovation and growth.

🏭 𝗜𝗻 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰, 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

As production continues to grow, the company moves from Gandino to a 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮, a strategic choice designed 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

⚙️ A new office building is created, the production areas are redeveloped from a former foundry, and particular attention is dedicated to the new impregnation system, designed with advanced fume extraction solutions for the time.

📈 This new space gives Lamiflex the opportunity to 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 beyond Italy, reaching markets across Europe, the United States and Asia.

✨ From a local manufacturing reality to an increasingly international company, 1984 marks the beginning of a new 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵.

🏭 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟳, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

After extensive testing and development, Lamiflex finds the right combination of materials: a mixture of cotton and resin, resistant yet flexible, perfectly suited for rapier weaving tapes.

🔧 It started as an experimentation, and it quickly became a manufacturing reality, built on 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

From those first tapes, we have come a long way: introducing carbon fiber, expanding our portfolio and evolving across industries.
