Il PLC è il cervello di ogni sistema di automazione.

Ricevono segnali dai sensori installati nei punti d’interesse e attivano o disattivano i attuatori come risposta, tutto in base a quello che è stato previamente programmato secondo le richieste del processo di produzione.⚙️

Quello che state vedendo è un esempio di un piccolo sistema di automazione.👆🏻

Come potete vedere ci sono sensori collegati al PLC, e ci sono gli attuatori (Motori in questo caso) che sono anche loro collegati al PLC.
S1 INVIA segnale di presenza al PLC, noi abbiamo programmato il (Controllo Logico Programmabile) in modo che se (S1=SENSORE 1) sente presenza ALLORA (M1=MOTORE1) deve accendersi.
(Questo porterebbe i pacchi avanti fino al prossimo sensore)
Arrivato il pacco al sensore 2 o (S2) questo INVIA segnale di presenza al PLC.
Noi abbiamo programmato il PLC in modo che se (S2 sente presenza) allora M1 viene spento.
Questo farebbe in modo che il pacco si blocchi alla fine della rulliera.📦

Ecco, cosa si intende per automazione industriale, macchine che muovono macchine.
