Introducing a new module for prosthetic testing 🦿🆕

We've extended our software Test Center with a dedicated module for structural and cyclic testing of ankle-foot devices, in line with ISO 22675.

From parameter setup to automatic ex*****on of inertial compensation, stiffness estimation, and motion profile initialization, the module runs the full stance-phase sequence so your team can focus on the results.

At the core of the test control is EEPIC, our iterative learning algorithm that corrects the input motion profile in real time based on the error measured in previous cycles.

Electromechanical excellence for testing prostheses 🦿

This machine, featuring an EA050 linear actuator and a torsional axis, delivers dynamic forces up to 50 kN and speeds up to 1470 mm/s for testing prosthetic components.
ISO 22675 sets the bar for how prosthetic ankle-foot systems must perform under repeated loading. Meeting it in the lab means results you can defend, not just numbers you hope hold up.

For decades, entry-level shock dynos have relied on Scotch-Yoke (crank-type) mechanisms, inherently limiting them to fixed strokes and sinusoidal testing.
While other manufacturers were producing ever-cheaper machines, we took a different approach: we built simpler ones.

Same technology. Same software. Same engineering.
We removed only what wasn't absolutely essential.

This is the core of LUD and HUD010.

We are thrilled to share one of our latest installations! 🚀

STEP Lab has successfully deployed a brand-new testing setup featuring three of our high-performance UD012 electrodynamic actuators at a leading testing laboratory in China.
This advanced configuration is engineered to perform precise, high-frequency dynamic and fatigue tests, pushing the boundaries of material analysis.

Some of the features of this setup:

1. Electric crosshead adjustment
Two synchronized ball screws driven by a single electric motor allow precise, repeatable crosshead positioning at the touch of a button.

2. Non-shift pneumatic wedge grips
Self-centering jaws that apply zero axial movement during opening and closing, preventing parasitic loads on the specimen. Interchangeable jaws cover many different specimens.

3. Test Center software
A full testing environment supporting static and fatigue tests with multiple waveforms, sequential test logic, and three user levels from production operator to engineer.
