In oxidation processes using permanganate, monitoring the residual concentration in water is essential to ensure treatment efficiency and process stability.

An insufficient residual may reduce oxidation effectiveness, while overdosing can lead to undesirable effects, including the characteristic pink coloration of water. For this reason, continuous and accurate monitoring of residual permanganate becomes a critical process parameter.

Developed for drinking water, industrial and wastewater applications, PermaTest is EMEC's automatic monitoring system designed for the continuous measurement of residual potassium and sodium permanganate directly in-line. Through automatic sampling and electrochemical analysis, the system delivers reliable results in approximately 30 seconds, providing operators with real-time visibility of the oxidation process.

PDS. Automated permanganate dosing under control.
In water treatment, permanganate plays a key role in addressing challenges such as iron and manganese removal, hydrogen sulfide oxidation, odour control and pre-oxidation processes.

Developed for drinking water, industrial and environmental applications, PDS (Permanganate Dosing System) is a compact and fully automatic solution designed for the continuous dosing of Potassium Permanganate (KMnO₄) and Sodium Permanganate (NaMnO₄) starting from liquid solutions.
The system automatically manages dosing based on water flow, ensuring reliable operation, dosing accuracy and process continuity. Through its touchscreen interface, operators can easily configure dosing parameters and monitor process performance in real time.
A typical application is the oxidation of iron and manganese in drinking water treatment plants, where maintaining a stable and accurate oxidant dosage is essential to process efficiency.
