🇬🇧 ReiThera is proud to announce that the results of its GRAd-COV2 vaccine phase 2 clinical trial (the COVITAR study) are now published in Cell Reports Medicine.
A single or double GRAd-COV2 dose regimen were well tolerated, inducing SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and potent T cell responses.

GRAd is therefore a promising vector platform for genetic vaccines against established or emerging infectious threats or cancer, particularly when T cell response is deemed key.

The successful completion of the COVITAR study in an ongoing complex pandemic situation has been a great challenge, for which we are grateful to the strenuous commitment and dedication of the investigators and the more than 900 volunteers in the 24 Italian clinical centers involved, and to the restless effort of all the ReiThera staff.

🇮🇹 ReiThera è orgogliosa di annunciare che i risultati dello studio clinico di fase 2 del vaccino GRAd-COV2 (lo studio COVITAR) sono stati pubblicati sulla rivista Cell Reports Medicine.
La vaccinazione a singola o doppia dose è ben tollerata, e induce sia anticorpi che una potente risposta T cellulare contro SARS-CoV-2.

GRAd si conferma una piattaforma adenovirale promettente per vaccini genetici contro patogeni gia circolanti o emergenti, oppure contro il cancro, soprattutto quando una risposta T cellulare è considerate fondamentale.

Portare a termine con successo lo studio COVITAR in piena pandemia, con tutte le complessità associate, è stata una enorme sfida. Siamo profondamente grati agli investigatori dei 24 centri clinici italiani e ai più di 900 volontari coinvolti nello studio per l’impegno costante e la dedizione, e a tutta la squadra di ReiThera che ha lavorato senza sosta per questo scopo.

In questo nuovo lavoro, pubblicato sull'International Journal of Molecular Sciences, il Dr. Angelo Raggioli, la Dott.ssa Michela Gentile e la Dott.ssa Federica D’Alessio, parte del team di Technology Development di in collaborazione con , hanno ingegnerizzato la linea cellulare umana HEK293, usata già nella produzione di vari vettori virali per terapia genica contro malattie infettive e cancro, per migliorare la produzione di vettori Adenovirali derivati da scimpanzè, utilizzando un sistema non virale basato su un trasposone a DNA chiamato Sleeping Beauty.
