Who is the best operator?
Let’s find out!

Last year at ’s facilities in Málaga, the best operators from 20 countries across Europe and middle East competed in a series of challenges.

From pushing a pipe along a rope with a D4 dozer, to locating blind spots behind a wall using Cat’s latest technologies, or even dropping rugby balls into a basket — every test is designed to challenge even the very best.

In the end, there was only one winner — the one who masters the perfect balance between pressure and precision at their fingertips. But no mistakes were allowed… the competition was tight!

Their demo showcased some heavy pieces

Like their largest piece moving in front the crowd in Munich… and by far!

The 700t, electric mining excavator, PC7000 was definitely the highlight of the show!

Taking down an old schoolhouse

Here, ’s excavator used a multicut jaw, suitable for cutting concrete and scrap metal

And then carefully took the whole ceiling with the grapple. Before removing the bricks feom the concrete slab

Depending on the application, the crusher jaws of the crusher can be exchanged to crush, cut or tear the concrete, in only two minutes. From cutting jaws to crushing jaws to separate concrete and steel rebars

Toggenburger and Volvo EC480EHR: Precision in dismantling

a Swiss contractor, is currently dismantling an old ZHAW building in Winterthur, where both the university and the company share deep roots.

For this project, Toggenburger is deploying their new EC480EHR, a high-reach excavator specifically designed for complex demolition tasks.

The EC480EHR is equipped with a high-reach boom extending up to 28 meters and a reinforced adjustable undercarriage for optimal stability. Powered by a 368-horsepower Volvo engine, it delivers a perfect balance of power and efficiency, enabling safe and precise work at challenging heights

Tracked loaders!

The Cat 963 tracked loader is perhaps a cross between a wheel loader and a dozer

Like the wheel loader, it has a boom and a bucket in front of the cab and can be used to load materials, and like the dozer, it is equipped with tracks and has a ripper at the back and can be used to push materials or ripping hard soils
—
With an operating weight of around 25 tonnes, it belongs to the class of medium-sized tracked loaders
—
Thanks to its tracks, it has the advantage over a wheel loader that it can also work in muddy environments, such as in an excavation pit
—
The Cat 963 tracked loader can be used in a variety of ways, especially for earthwork, whether it’s digging house foundations, moving piles of soil or loading trucks.
Waste management on landfills or the transport of rubble on demolition sites are also part of its field of applications

The nearly 100t CAT 395 moving rocks in one of Switzerland’s largest quarry

This was the first 395 delivered in Switzerland, two years ago

Then, the rocks needed for cement production are loaded in a 2010 CAT 775F

Seems old?

But thanks to a CAT® certified rebuild in 2022 by the swiss dealer for it is ready for several years of duty again!

Trenching

Versatility is key!
With a TiltRotator and some buckets you are definitely ready to trench. Doesn’t matter how wide or deep, you’ll find the right attachment for it ;)

That was the choice of for their 8t excavators and they definitely don’t regret it!

They are the best operators

After two intense days here at ’s facilities in Málaga, the Global Operator Challenge Semi Finals have come to an end!

From pushing a pipe with a D4 Dozer, mastering onboard tech with an 320 Excavator, slaloming through cones with a 938 Wheel Loader, to showing pure driving skill in an 730 Articulated Haul Truck — every challenge pushed precision and control to the limit.

Now, meet the three champions who will represent Europe & Middle East at the World Finals in Las Vegas:

1st — Gunter Dewit from Belgium, who combined precision and calm under pressure
2nd — Nicolai Thomsen from Denmark, who mastered efficiency in every move
3rd — Sebastian Behr from Germany, who showed pure focus and control

Congratulations to all operators for their incredible skill and passion - What a show of excellence!
