Modula is a modular plaster boiserie available in two versions: “Modula – Architectural”, tied to a rhythmic vision of space, and “Modula – Jasmine”, where the decoration evokes a vertical garden.

This project was developed to provide a comprehensive package of solutions for managing vertical plaster claddings in interior design. The two versions, “Modula – Architectural” and “Modula – Jasmine”, allow for the creation of completely different atmospheres using the very same system elements.

Modula represents a significant step in the evolution of Wallnext, a system designed for creating three-dimensional vertical wall coverings.

The new collection expands the system's possibilities with a comprehensive design kit comprising vertical panels in different widths, end elements, skirting boards designed to accommodate LED strips, and shelves. All transforming the wall into a refined, contemporary interpretation of traditional boiserie.

This project gives architects and designers to shape the wall in harmony with the space's proportions, defining its rhythm, depth, and character.

Modula was born from a reflection on Gypsum’s very identity. After exploring the expressive potential of concrete, creative directors Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato chose to place plaster back at the heart of their research. Recognizing it as the material that shaped the company’s history, they transformed it from a primarily technical element into a design tool and architectural language.

On the occasion of CERSAIE 2026, Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato design architectural volumes that enclose distinct environments and atmospheres, created to showcase the world of Gypsum and its latest releases:

MODULA

Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato present their concept of modular plaster boiserie, available in two versions: Modula – Architectural, rooted in a rhythmic interpretation of space, and Modula – Jasmine, where the decoration evokes a vertical garden.

URUK

Previewed at Milan Design Week 2026, the new Cementobasic® tile collection by Huub Ubbens stems from a reflection on the archetypal language of architecture and its ability to transcend time. Stairs, volumes, and planes translate into a system of five elements defined by a measured three-dimensionality, where the surface itself becomes a narrative element.
