FunctionBay Srl

FunctionBay Srl is a Computer Aided Engineering company, mainly focused on Multi-Body-Dynamics. in Korea.

It operates in Italy and Europe for the promotion and distribution of RecurDyn software, a technology developed by FunctionBay, Inc. RecurDyn is a recent and modern technology, which has proven to be a step ahead the existing MBD simulation tools. Its optimized solver, its user & friendly interface, its unlimited possibilities of customization, and the great library of features, make it the ideal simulation environment for the engineers that need to understand moving mechanical systems. RecurDyn natively interfaces with matlab simulink and supports FMI standard for being used in 1D system modelling. Additionally, RecurDyn efficiently interfaces with Particleworks simulation software, enabling the analysis of systems where the Fluid-Dynamics is tightly coupled with Body-Dynamics and Structural-Dynamics. FunctionBay Italy aims to make the Multi-Body-Simulation approach more common among small and medium enterprises, which are used to do physical testing only. At the same time, FunctionBay Italy offers to large companies already familiar with Multi-Body-Dynamics simulation an alternative that is highly competitive in terms of performances and costs.

I created a simulation model of this kind a long time ago, and it still fascinates me. There is a huge amount of numerics behind. Many tools promise to obtain the result shown above, but, getting reliability is absolutely not trivial. In my model, I had over one hundred rigid bodies coupled with cle...

People often ask: why consider for if other tools already get the job done? It’s a fair question, but there are solid technical reasons behind the answer. Closed-loop mechanisms are inherently challenging to simulate. In systems like tracks, chains, or belts, joint mo...
