Piaggio Aerospace to Open Historic Archive to the Public

Piaggio Aerospace has signed a five-year agreement with the General Directorate of Archives of Italy's Ministry of Culture to protect and promote the historical archive of Rinaldo Piaggio Aeronautical and Mechanical Industries and ensure that this important part of Italy's industrial and aeronautical heritage is preserved for future generations.

''This is an agreement I personally care a lot about,'' said Haluk Bayraktar, Chairman of Piaggio Aerospace and CEO of Baykar. ''In the company's archives, we have wooden wind-tunnel models and original drawings that go back generations. With this agreement, we are ensuring that this collection is preserved, remains here in Villanova d’Albenga, and becomes accessible to the public. These objects are part of this valley’s history, and they will stay here for future generations to discover and appreciate.''

From aircraft on the ramp to conversations on the ground, the first annual meeting of the Piaggio Owners and Pilots Association (PAPA) brought together the U.S. P.180 Avanti community in Galveston, Texas, for two days of networking and knowledge-sharing.

With 16 P.180s gathered at Scholes International Airport, the program featured discussions on aircraft operations, maintenance, service support, and the future of the P.180. Attendees also had the opportunity to connect directly with the Piaggio Aerospace team and get an up-close look at the P.180 Avanti EVO.
