Last week, helicopter operations brought the 74 cabins of the new GD10 Chaz Dura in La Thuile safely into position, transforming the skyline and bringing the project one step closer to completion. 🚡✨

The installation is now in the commissioning phase, with teams working intensively on the final activities before opening. ⚙️🔧

With the opening of the new Operations & Technology Hub in Pollein (Aosta, IT), LEITNER is further strengthening its presence in one of Italy’s key Alpine regions.

🚁 Building where access is a challenge.

Due to the demanding terrain and limited accessibility of the Patrullarve construction site in Zermatt, heavy components have to take to the skies. 🏔️

For the components of the installation’s 16 towers alone, around 100 helicopter flights are required. 🚁⚙️

A construction process that requires precise planning, teamwork and coordination – on the ground and in the air. 👷‍♂️🤝

👀🪢 POV: You’re right in the middle of a rope splice.

Two rope ends become one continuous loop. 🔗

Using a special splicing needle, the tapered ends are carefully worked into the core of the opposite rope section. Step by step, the connection disappears inside the rope, creating a seamless splice that can run smoothly through the entire ropeway system. 🚡⚙️

Once complete, the rope is lifted back onto the towers, brought to its nominal tension and carefully checked. 🔍

🚠 Construction is progressing steadily at Latemar Dolomites!

The installation of the towers and station components for the new 8-seater “Obereggen” chairlift is well underway. 🏗️⛰️

Once completed, the new LEITNER system will enhance guest comfort and increase transport capacity, further strengthening the connection between Obereggen, Pampeago and Predazzo. ❄️🚡
