Efficiency isn't measured at the quote; it's measured at the project's end.

Every hour of downtime caused by a damaged float or a worn-out pipe is profit vanishing. In heavy-duty dredging, true economies of scale are achieved only when maintenance becomes a rare event, rather than a constant.

The Kiasma Group - Nordtubi integrated system is engineered for exactly this:
"Very Strong" Elastic Floats: A structure designed to absorb impact energy without failure. Where rigid systems crack, our elasticity ensures operational continuity.

Anti-Abrasive Layer Piping: Molecular technology applied to solids transport. Less friction, extended lifespan, and maximum flow efficiency.

Selecting this configuration is not an expense, it is a strategic move to protect your bottom line.

Higher resistance translates into an extended life cycle and, consequently, the lowest Total Cost of Ownership on the market.

Maximize your fleet's performance.

"Tailor-made"
A complex project shouldn't have to adapt to what is simply available in stock. It requires custom fittings, precise geometries, and materials capable of withstanding extreme stress.

Whether it involves workshop pre-fabrication or on-site manufacturing to slash logistical costs, we provide the solution where others see a limit.

Does your next project need a component that doesn't exist yet? We design it. We build it.

Rethinking Hydraulic Performance.

When trying to increase the efficiency of a design, many of us immediately think of the pump. It's the most logical starting point, right?

However, there is one element that is often treated as a simple "passage pipe", but which could be the real silent bottleneck in your operations: the descharge line.

Many of the standards still in use today were designed over 30 years ago. In an era when hydraulic performance and sustainability were not relevant requirements, accepting high fuel consumption and premature wear as "part of the job" can limit the true potential of your project.

At Kiasma Group, we asked ourselves: how much margin are you leaving on the table by not optimising your workflow?

We would like to share with you some key insights on how rethinking your pipeline can transform your operational results.

It is about achieving excellence:
✅ With significantly lower fuel consumption
✅ With reduced emissions
✅ Optimising the entire fluid dynamics of the system
✅ Reducing repairs and machine downtime

Often, optimising hydraulic performance does not start with the pump... but with how the material travels to its destination.

Watch the video until the end to discover a new perspective on efficiency.

🧩 Every piece matters...
Especially the last one.
In dredging, efficiency is not just the sum of its parts, but the quality of how they fit together.

A lighter, more resilient float, a pipeline that reduces friction, a custom component that prevents site delays... these are the pieces that transform a cost into a strategic investment.

At Kiasma Group & Nordtubi, we engineer these components with a singular vision: Precision, Optimized Costs, and Environmental Care.

What is the missing piece to make your next project perfect? 🧩

Dredging: Why Pressure Loss and Abrasion Deserve More Attention

In dredging, we often focus on dredger capacity, pump power, production rates.
But a large share of real efficiency is determined somewhere else: inside the discharge pipeline.

Even in well-run operations, pressure loss and abrasion quietly shape fuel consumption, equipment stress, and overall productivity.

They’re not dramatic events, they’re gradual forces that, over time, influence the entire performance curve of a project.

Pressure loss is part of the job, but not all pressure loss is equal.

Every bend, connection, and surface condition affects how much energy the pump must deliver to keep the material moving.

When resistance increases, so does fuel usage, and the impact is often noticed only when performance begins to drift.

Abrasion works in parallel. Sand, gravel, and mineral-rich sediments constantly interact with the pipeline’s internal surface.

Even small changes over time can alter flow behavior, increasing turbulence and creating a compounding effect on pressure requirements.

Here’s the good news:
while these phenomena can’t be eliminated, they can be significantly controlled.

A pipeline designed with attention to flow dynamics, material choice, internal structure, geometry, and long-term wear behavior, can deliver a remarkably smoother, more stable, and more energy-efficient operation.

And the benefits are tangible:

- Lower pump fuel consumption, thanks to more consistent flow

- Longer service life of the pipeline, reducing OPEX and downtime

- More predictable performance, especially in long and demanding projects

- This isn’t about fixing problems, it’s about unlocking performance.

In today’s dredging environment, where costs and environmental pressures rise, improving efficiency inside the pipeline is one of the most direct ways to increase productivity and reduce waste.

Because successful dredging isn’t about having the largest dredger... 😄
it’s about making every cubic meter move with the least resistance possible.

The Invisible Engine of the Global Economy (and the ones making it more efficient)

90% of global trade travels by sea. But what happens when sediment threatens to block our "blue highways"?

Dredging isn’t just about "moving sand." It is a battle against erosion, abrasion, and the forces of nature. In a world racing toward ever-larger infrastructure, efficiency isn't an option, it’s a mandate.

This is where Italian engineering is redefining the rules of the game.
Why do industry leaders choose this technology?
🔹 Extreme Resistance: Pipes featuring an anti-abrasive layer and friction reducer, engineered to defy the wear and tear of the most abrasive materials.
🔹 Total Versatility: From lagoons to major international ports, elastic and indestructible flotation systems guarantee consistent performance.
🔹 Sustainability and Durability: Less maintenance means lower environmental impact and optimized operational costs.

We aren't just moving sediment. We are building the resilience of our coastlines and the efficiency of tomorrow's ports. If you think a pipe is just a pipe, it’s time to look further ahead.

The future of dredging is fluidity and resistance in daily operations.
