It will be mandatory in the future for all properties to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) at the point of sale or rental. To get an EPC you will need a home energy audit. There is currently a States subsidy available that will provide up to £150 towards the cost of an audit. The subsidy amount available will gradually decrease until legislation for mandatory EPCs at point of sale or rental in 2026.

FREE HOME ENERGY AUDITS - 1 more week only!

The States of Jersey subsidy that covers the full cost of an audit is reducing at the end of the month. Applications need to be in by 4pm on February 29th. Home owners and landlords contact us now!

A home energy audit will produce an energy performance certificate (EPC) for your property. From the end of next year it will be mandatory for all property sales and rentals to have an EPC.

The States subsidy for home energy audits is decreasing from March 1st. So long as you have your application in before the end of the month you will have up to 8 weeks to have the audit completed.

The States of Jersey subsidy for Home Energy Audits is reducing by £100 at the end of this month!

Until then you can still get a FREE audit through us which will produce an Energy Performance Certificate for your property that is valid for 10 years. This is important as all property sales and rentals will have to have an EPC by the end of 2025. So it makes total sense to make the most of this subsidy whilst it's available.

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates the energy performance of a house in terms of cost and carbon footprint. The ratings take into account and make recommendations on the home’s insulation, heating systems, hot water system, fixed lighting, ventilation, number of windows and fuels used.

An EPC shows the energy efficiency of a property by an alphabetical rating system, starting with band ‘A’ which indicates the most energy efficient property, dropping to a rating of band ‘G’ for the least energy efficient property.

The EPC certificate, which is valid for a period of 10 years, will give both the homeowner and any potential buyers an indication of the energy efficient of the property, and will also give guidelines on how to improve the energy efficiency of the building.

We are specialists in Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and our Domestic Energy Assessors are qualified professionals who survey homes to create accredited and accurate EPCs.

From the end of 2024 if you are selling or leasing your property you will need an EPC. If you are applying for a States grant on the low carbon heating incentive you will need an EPC. Did you know you can apply for up to £5,000 (10,000 for low income homes) towards energy improvements identified on your EPC such as a new heating system, loft and wall insulation.
