Jersey’s low-carbon future needs skilled people - and spaces where they can learn. 🔧🌱
Take a look inside the completed Green Skills Academy at Highlands College, where we’ve helped transform existing facilities into a purpose-built environment for practical training.
A partnership between Jersey Electricity and Highlands College, working with the local trade industry, the Academy combines workshop and classroom learning with real-world experience to develop the island’s next generation of low-carbon heating technicians.
As principal contractor, BR’s work included stripping out existing facilities, constructing new timber-framed training bays and partitions, installing structural steelwork, adapting floors and ceilings, and redecorating throughout. Alongside the plumbing, electrical and specialist bay installations, these works have created a space where apprentices can put theory into practice.
We’re proud to have played a part in a project whose impact will extend beyond the building, through the skills apprentices take onto sites across Jersey.
