Engineering Axis for Studies (EAS) is a material testing, site investigation, engineering studies and quality control firm established in 1994 in Amman, and has qualified engineering and technical personnel. EAS is classified by the Jordanian Engineers Association as a first class office for materials testing and site investigation. Also, EAS is qualified by the Governmental Tenders Directorate
as a consulting engineering office (first class) in materials testing and (second class) in site investigation. EAS is accredited by the different public and private sectors in these fields of work. Since establishment, EAS had submitted his technical and laboratory testing services to several large construction projects in the country. In addition to providing testing services, EAS also provides quality control and technical consultation services to the owner, consultant, and contractor within his field of work. EAS is accredited by the Jordanian Accreditation System according to the requirements of the Jordanian Standard JS 1451:2005 which is equivalent to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to carry out Physical and Chemical Testing of Soil & Aggregate & Asphalt Testing (55 test methods, certificate registration number: JAS Test - 039). Also, EAS is accredited according to (EN ISO 9001:2008) for all fields of his work. Abdulla Shihab, is registered as a “Chartered Engineer” in highway materials in the list of “Experts and Chartered Engineers” of the Jordanian Engineers Association (JEA; Since 2001) and he is a member in the technical committee for site Investigation at JEA. Shihab is a member in the permanent committee for construction materials standards of the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology. Shihab is a committee member in both MPW&H Highway Specifications and Highway Maintenance Manual committees. Shihab has participated in the preparation of “Acceptance of Work and Pay Factors” basis for the MPW&H. Also, Eng. Shihab participates in different meetings, workshops, committees, conferences, and seminars in his field of interest.
