With the end curves and straight line cut on the machines I connected the cuts with a handsaw.

The thin kerf and lack of a back plate on this Ryoba saw made it perfect for this task. Took my time, cut right to the line and the waste piece popped right out.

I find constant uses for this saw. I know there are power tool alternatives like reciprocating saws, but why carry that extra weight when this butterfly saw with a super sharp Japanese blade makes quick work!? Bonus hand sawing is fun!
