Biotin, also known as vitamin B₇, acts as a coenzyme in the energy metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids 𝘪𝘯 𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘰. High concentrations of biotin in tissues such as kidney, liver, and mammary tissue can lead to high background in avidin/biotin-based immunostaining. Avidin / biotin blocking kit suppresses non-specific staining caused by endogenous biotin by using the included avidin solution and biotin solution.
