1894（明治27）年、芸術院恩賜賞を受けた初代龍村平藏氏が創業。法隆寺、正倉院の古代裂の研究と復元で知られ、『美術織物』というカテゴリーを確立。その完成度は、交流のあった若き日の芥川龍之介が新聞で称えたほど。現在では、帯地をはじめ、打掛地、ドレス地のほか、緞帳やタペストリーなどの装飾織物や高級雑貨まで多様な製品を手がけ、クリスチャン・ディオール、コール・ハーン、フェンディなど有名デザイナーの生地も手掛けたことで知られている。

In 1894, “Tatsumura Textile“ was founded by the first “Heizo Tatsumura“ well-known for the study and reconstruction of ancient cloth

fragment of “Horyu-ji Temple“ and “Shoso-in“ and also as the pioneer of unprecedented category “Art Textile.“

Our work has been diversified from “Obi (Sash),“ “Japanese traditional dress,“ “High quality sundry goods“ and specially ordered materials for world famous luxurious brands “Christian Dior,“ “COLE HAAN“ and “FENDI."

令和5年度から3年をかけて取り組ませていただいた復元新調がこのたび完成いたしました。中国で古くから伝わる仙人図をモチーフに、本金糸をふんだんに使用し、様々な刺繍技巧を凝らした新見送幕をぜひご覧ください。巡行は7月17日（金）です。※荒天の場合は装着しない可能性があります。

☆Gion Festival: Hakuga-yama Float – Backdrop “Five Immortals” ☆
The restoration and renewal project, which we have been working on over the past three years since 2023, has now been completed. Please take a moment to admire this new backdrop, which features a motif of the “Five Immortals”—a traditional Chinese motif—and is crafted with abundant use of gold thread and a variety of intricate embroidery techniques. The parade will take place on Friday, July 17. ※Please note that the backdrop may not be displayed in the event of inclement weather.

It could be described as “functional, movable art.” We have redefined it as a “movable work of art” by freely inserting representative obi sash fabrics from each generation of Heizo Tatsumura into it.

☆ミラノデザインウィーク2026「フォーリサローネ」にて 「CASA TATSUMURA」インテリアコレクションを発表☆Vol.2【The Gou-Buchi】日本建築において最も格式が高い様式とされる「格天井」。角材を格子状に組み格縁（ごうぶち）とし、その中に書画をはめ込み「格式とデザイン性」を表現したものです。その立体的な格子の中に龍村平藏各代の代表作帯地を使用し、天井ではなくテーブルに落とし込む事で、見上げるものであった「美意識と格式」を別の視点で楽しみ生活に取り込む事ができる作品としました。

☆Unveiling the “CASA TATSUMURA” Interior Collection at “Fuorisalone” during Milan Design Week 2026☆ Vol. 2【The Gou-Buch】 The “GOUTENJOU” is considered the most prestigious style in Japanese architecture. It features a latticework frame constructed from square timber, into which paintings and calligraphy are set to express both “prestige and design.” By incorporating representative obi sash fabrics from various generations of Heizo Tatsumura into this three-dimensional lattice and placing them on a table rather than a ceiling, this piece allows viewers to appreciate the “aesthetic sensibility and prestige”—which were traditionally meant to be admired from below—from a different perspective and integrate them into daily life.

☆Unveiling the “CASA TATSUMURA” Interior Collection at “Fuorisalone” during Milan Design Week 2026☆ Vol. 1 【An-Don】 We have reinterpreted an ANDON—a traditional Japanese floor lamp—from the perspective of contemporary lifestyle and art. Designed by the up-and-coming creative director Akiko Kawamura, the body features obi sashes inspired by the glass crafts—the signature works of Heizo Tatsumura IV. This piece represents a high-level fusion of life and art, combining the function of a lamp with the appreciation of elegant art textiles that emerge within its soft glow.
