Turntablism, Scratch Culture
JICO Sound in Seoul 🇰🇷
“Open Turntablism for Ordinary People”

The 16th edition of “The Wheels” () was held at MOD Sound Lab (), a DJ academy located in the Apgujeong Rodeo area of Gangnam, Seoul, featuring professional facilities and specialized turntablism and DJ equipment.

The event brought together DJs, turntablists, enthusiasts, and newcomers to experience and enjoy turntablism in an open and welcoming environment.

From freestyle scratch jams to hands-on sessions, participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of scratching with guidance from MOD’s staff and explore a variety of turntablism and DJ equipment.

A special part of the event was the opportunity to experience JICO cartridges and styli firsthand. Participants used JICO products during the event, experiencing their sound and performance up close while scratching and playing records.

For us, this is what DJ culture and analog audio are about: getting hands-on, sharing knowledge, discovering new equipment, and experiencing sound together.

The Wheels creates an open space for anyone interested in turntablism—from people discovering scratching for the first time to experienced enthusiasts who enjoy the culture alongside their everyday lives.

We’re pleased to see JICO cartridges and styli being experienced firsthand by members of Seoul’s turntablism community, alongside the work of and in supporting Korea’s scratch and turntablism culture.

Turntablism. Scratching. Vinyl.
DJ Culture. Analog Sound.
