Sometimes I wonder if there is a difference between nutrition science and witchcraft. There is so much contradiction whenever you read about different food items. One article will tell you how good the food is and another will label it poison.

I also feel that when we were taught about proteins and carbohydrates a big mistake was made. We were not told that most plant based proteins have a lot of carbohydrates. So when you eat rice and beans you think you are eating a pure protein and a carb. Yet in reality you are to a great extent eating a carb with a carb.

The other point is with scarcity mentality when it comes to eating. There is this thing we say about "kushiba". It built a thinking in us that eating means filling your stomach with food. So, often we eat more than our bodies need.

These last two issues contribute in a big way to weight problems. Food and physical activity are key to maintaining right weight. Focus on one and ignoring the other can't deliver results.

During the Second World War, a soldier obtained leave allowing him to return to his home.

As soon as he reached the street near his house, he saw a parked military truck loaded with corpses and knew that the enemy had bombed his city.

The truck was carrying dozens of dead bodies and was preparing to transport them to a mass grave.

The soldier stood in front of the piled-up corpses to take a last look at them and noticed that a shoe on a woman's foot looked like a shoe he had previously bought for his wife.

He went to his house in a hurry to check on her but didn't find her. He quickly retreated and went back to the truck again to check the body and found his wife.

He was left shocked. He said, "I'll not want my wife buried in a mass grave".

So he asked her body be pulled from the truck in preparation for a proper burial.

During the transfer, it was found that she was still breathing slowly but with difficulty. He carried her to the hospital where the necessary first aid was given to her and she came back to life again.

Years after this incident and at the end of the war, the wife who was almost buried alive became pregnant and gave birth to a boy named Vladimir Putin.

He is the current president of Russia.

I believe that thirty million of these animalcules together would not take up as much room, or be as big, as a coarse grain of sand.

Although Nature needs thousands or millions of years to create a new species, man needs only a few dozen years to destroy one.

Plants obtain the gasesthey need through their leaves. They require oxygen for respiration andcarbon dioxide for photosynthesis. The gases diffuse into the intercellular spaces of the leaf through pores, which are normally on the underside of the leaf - stomata.

Taxonomy

is the scientific study of naming, defining (circumscribing) and classifying groups of biological organismsbased on shared characteristics. Organisms are grouped into taxa (singular: taxon) and these groups are given a taxonomic rank; groups of a given rank can be aggregated to form a more inclusive group of higher rank, thus creating a taxonomic hierarchy. The principal ranks in modern use are domain, kingdom, phylum (division is sometimes used in botany in place of phylum), class, order, family, genus, and species. The Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus is regarded as the founder of the current system of taxonomy, as he developed a ranked system known as Linnaean taxonomy for categorizing organisms and binominal nomenclature for naming organisms.

With advances in the theory, data and analytical technology of biological systematics, the Linnaean system has transformed into a system of modern biological classification intended to reflect the evolutionary relationships among organisms, both living and extinct.

Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert
light energy into chemical energy that can later be released to fuel the organisms' activities (energy transformation ). This chemical energy is stored in carbohydrate molecules , such as sugars, which are synthesized from carbon dioxide and water – hence the name photosynthesis , from the Greek φῶς, phōs , "light", and
σύνθεσις , synthesis , "putting together". [1][2][3] In most cases,
oxygen is also released as a waste product. Most plants , most algae, and
cyanobacteria perform photosynthesis; such organisms are called photoautotrophs. Photosynthesis is largely responsible for producing and maintaining the
oxygen content of the Earth's atmosphere, and supplies all of the organic compounds and most of the energy necessary for life on Earth.[4]
Although photosynthesis is performed differently by different species, the process always begins when energy from light is absorbed by proteins called reaction centres that contain green chlorophyll pigments. In plants, these proteins are held inside
organelles called chloroplasts, which are most abundant in leaf cells, while in bacteria they are embedded in the
plasma membrane . In these light-dependent reactions, some energy is used to strip electrons from suitable substances, such as water, producing oxygen gas. The hydrogen freed by the splitting of water is used in the creation of two further compounds that act as an immediate energy storage means: reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the "energy currency" of cells.
In plants, algae and cyanobacteria, long-term energy storage in the form of sugars is produced by a subsequent sequence of light-independent reactions called the
Calvin cycle; some bacteria use different mechanisms, such as the
reverse Krebs cycle , to achieve the same end. In the Calvin cycle, atmospheric carbon dioxide is
incorporated into already existing organic carbon compou

Germination depends much in water than it does in warmth and air.No grain stored in a warm place with a lot of air can germinate.
