We are a family owned and run business, which has been manufacturing quality, innovative products for over 60 years.”

-1950, Tunnel Company Ltd was founded by Tim Hutchinson, aged 20.

-1954, Tim pioneered the use of biogas as an alternative source of energy for the home farm. Along with this, he also designed and developed all the products we manufacture today.

-1982, Having grown coffee using

the organic fertilizer from his Methane Plants, Tim was the first person to sell Organic Coffee on the London market.

-1983, Tunnel Company Ltd became Tunnel Technology Ltd .

-2000, Winner of the International Millennium Gold Award (Madrid, Spain) for the Tunnel Kuni Booster.

-2015, Tim Hutchinson sadly passed away, and Tunnel Energy Ltd was established by his grandson, Nick Prettejohn.

-2020, Tunnel Energy Ltd continues to manufacture the original products, which were tried and tested by Tim Hutchinson for over 60 years.

Our Kuni boosters use little amounts of firewood and it is not necessary to use large pieces of Kuni, therefore we only recommend pruning of trees to service as firewood, therefore no harm done. This way it burns much more efficiently with smaller pieces of wood and as a result less emissions produced in burning.

TUNNEL KUNI BOOSTER Firing up for the weekend! Using small amounts of dried twigs/branch cuttings is much more efficient than using larger pieces of kuni/firewood, and so much better for the environment. It burns a lot better and produces very little smoke, heating your water extremely quickly; 20 minutes and you’ll have enough hot water for the day (providing you have the right hot water storage).
