Not long ago, organic waste from Karen Market was simply discarded.

♻️Today, that same is being transformed into .

🫱🏾‍🫲🏽Through a partnership with the Rotary Club of Karen, a T-Rex M100 biogas system has been installed at Don Bosco Boys Town Technical Training Center Karen — creating a sustainable solution that benefits both the market and the institution.

The project is already:
✔️ Improving cleanliness at the market
✔️ Supporting better practices
✔️ Generating energy
✔️ Providing a practical example of sustainability in action

A simple idea — but one with powerful impact.

Recently, The Nairobian (THE STANDARD NEWSPAPER) featured our Pay-As-You-Cook biogas model at Dunga Beach in Kisumu — a solution designed for fish traders, hotels, and small food businesses.

Instead of relying on expensive and traditional fuels, users can now access clean cooking energy and simply pay for what they use.

As our CEO Dominic Wanjihia puts it:
“It works just like airtime — you pay for what you use, and it’s much cheaper and cleaner than traditional fuels.”

🌍 Accelerating Clean Cooking in Kenya – Live from MERU COUNTY.

We are proud to be in at Athanwa Vocational Training Centre (Tigania East) delivering hands-on training under the UK PACT: Accelerating County Cooking Transition (A2CT) Project.

In partnership with the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya CCAK), alongside SNV and the County Government of Meru County we are:
✅ Installing a XL system
✅ Training artisans & CBOs on biogas installation and maintenance
✅ Equipping local teams with practical clean cooking solutions
✅ Driving the shift from traditional fuels to sustainable energy

From theory sessions on generation to full system installation, piping, and feeding, this program is building real, on-the-ground capacity for a cleaner future. 🌱🔥

And this is just the beginning…

What if school waste could cook school meals?

At Don Bosco Boys Town Technical Institute, Karen, a T-Rex M100 Flexi Biogas system has been installed to convert organic waste into clean cooking energy for the school kitchen.

During the initial gas test, the system already produced its first blue flame, marking the beginning of biogas production.

This project was implemented in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Karen demonstrating how schools can turn waste into renewable energy while reducing energy costs.
