Officially Handed Over – Shimoni Fish Port 🇰🇪⚓

After months of intense planning, engineering, and construction, we’ve officially handed over the Shimoni Fish Port to our client, the Kenya Ports Authority, led by their Managing Director, Capt. William Ruto.

This milestone concludes a collaborative effort — from concept and design to piling, marine works, and infrastructure delivery. The facility is now ready to serve the region’s fishing industry, unlocking value through modern facilities for fish landing, processing, cold storage, and sustainable port operations.

Delivered to specification, the project represents not just a successful build, but a shared vision realized — to anchor Kenya’s Blue Economy ambitions and create long-term impact for the coastal community.

We thank KPA, the consulting engineers, Kiri Consult, and all project partners for their collaboration and trust throughout the journey. We’re honoured to have contributed to delivering this strategic national asset.

Shipbuilding in East Africa isn’t just about steel — it’s about precision, purpose, and progress.

At SECO, we play a central role in building vessels that serve the fast-growing maritime trade routes, offshore projects along the East African coast, and inland operations across the Lake Victoria region.

Constructing a ship is a precise dance of thousands of tasks — each one controlled under SECO’s rigorous quality assurance systems. On top of this, we collaborate closely with leading IACS members, including RINA, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas Group, and the Indian Register of Shipping, to ensure our vessels meet the highest international standards.

From harbor support vessels to offshore utility crafts, our facilities in Mombasa, Kenya, and Entebbe, Uganda, support the goals of the Blue Economy, enhance inter-regional connectivity, and contribute to local skills development in marine engineering.

Throwback to threading needles with steel.

Long before it touched the skyline, KMA Towers started with us—navigating tight urban spaces and laying deep foundations with precision piling.

Fast-forward to today, and the finished tower stands tall as a testament to what solid groundwork makes possible.

From tight spots to towering heights — always building with purpose.
