🔥 KNOW THE KIND OF FRIENDS YOU KEEP — SOME FRIENDS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! 😂💰
During COVID-19, a friend—let’s call her Josephine—takes me to the bank.
Josephine tells me, “In our bank, where I am the loan officer, if you bank a good amount of money and keep your account active for 1–2 months, I can get you a loan of ANY amount.”
I look at her like, “ANY amount? Josephine, are you sure?” 😂
I argue with her because, according to what I know, the rule is a minimum 6-month bank statement.
Josephine gets furious. She feels I don't believe in her potential.
At this point, I decide, let me try this woman before she thinks I don't trust her professional powers. 😂
But one question keeps disturbing my mind:
SECURITY FOR THE LOAN WILL COME FROM WHERE? 🤔
At that time, my entire village wealth consisted of one pregnant goat and one bull that my late father, Mwalimu Sam Owadgi Atieno, had gifted me.
In Nairobi, I had only one asset worth mentioning—a logbook for an old pickup, KZS, worth about KSh 70,000, which I had bought using savings from my HELB loan.
Josephine asks me:
“Do you have access to the logbook?”
I almost fell from my chair. 😂😂
“DON'T TRY ME! How can I lack the logbook to the ONLY WEALTH I have worked for all my life?”
Laughter exploded! 🤣
To cut the long story short, within two months I return to the bank.
I apply for the loan.
Maina wuod Okuyu becomes my guarantor, while Winnie Nyar Migori stands firmly with me as my dedicated sidekick. 😂
Three days later…
💥 LOAN APPROVED: KSh 2.5 MILLION!
That was more money than I had ever held in cash at once.
And that's where the real story begins. 😅
Maina looks at me and says:
“Pesa ya loan si ya sherehe. Enda kwa nyumba uchape hesabu yako. Tukutane kesho—mimi nikisign off another loan ya KSh 6 million, na wewe utakuwa guarantor wangu.”
😂😂😂
MAINAAA!
That's when I discovered another important truth about friendship:
Sometimes your friend doesn't just open a door for you.
They drag you through the door, give you a loan, then immediately recruit you to guarantee theirs! 😂
But seriously…
👉 Choose your friends wisely.
Some friends introduce you to opportunities.
Some teach you financial discipline.
Some challenge you to think bigger.
And some will make you understand that a loan is not free money—it is a responsibility that can completely change how you relate with people.
Because once you start repaying serious loans, you can isolate yourself from half the world.
You are still living on planet Earth…
…but financially, you are on another planet. 😂😂
