๐ŸŒ Happy World Environment Day!

Today, our teams across Kenya took action under the theme "Climate Action Starts With Us" and here's what we did:

Our NAI & MOM NAI teams in Nairobi united for tree planting, waste reduction awareness, and a shared commitment to producing greener cement.

In our Mombasa plant and Bamburi Ecosystems operations, 45 of our people cleaned up the Mtopanga River in Mombasa, removing 635 kg of waste and protecting the Mombasa Marine Park.

Our Bamburi Special Products teams planted 20 trees in Mombasa and 33 snake-repellent plants in Athi River.

Small actions, big impact. We're committed to building a cleaner, greener future โ€” for our communities and generations to come.

Yesterday, our CEO, Mr. Geoffrey Ndugwa's strategic meeting with the Managing Director of Kenya Railways, Mr. Philip J. Mainga, alongside both the Bamburi Cement leadership team and the Kenya Railways leadership team, sought to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in advancing our sustainability agenda through improved transport systems.

The engagement focused on strengthening strategic partnerships that support efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible logistics solutions across the region. Rail transport continues to play a critical role in reducing Scope 3 COโ‚‚ emissions, improving logistics efficiency, easing road congestion, and enabling the more sustainable delivery of cement solutions to our customers.

As we continue to build for the future, partnerships such as these remain key in driving sustainable industrial growth, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting Kenyaโ€™s transition towards greener and more efficient infrastructure systems.
