– Ol Pejeta Conservancy Cottage, Kenya
At Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where protecting the ecosystem limits access to grid power, one cottage struggled with a failing system and constant repairs — eventually relying on a noisy diesel generator.
Our team stepped in to fully redesign and rebuild the system from the ground up, delivering a reliable, long-term off-grid energy solution built for safety, durability, and easy maintenance.
🔹 7.38 kWp solar PV system
🔹 11.1 kWh battery storage
🔹 Powers the full residence, including critical loads like the electric fence
Now running successfully for 4 months:
✅ Zero fuel consumption
✅ No generator noise
✅ Reliable day & night power
Beyond powering a home, this project supports one of Africa’s most important conservation areas — home to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, the last two northern white rhinos, and Kenya’s only chimpanzee sanctuary.
Sustainability here means more than clean energy — it’s about building resilient systems where nature and people can coexist. 🌱
