At WHE 2025, we spoke with Vladimir Novak, Chief Commercial Officer of Utility Global, about breakthrough hydrogen production technologies enabling industrial decarbonization.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Utility Global has developed its patented H2Gen® technology — producing clean hydrogen from water without relying on external electricity. By utilizing electrons from industrial off-gases and biogas, the company enables cost-effective hydrogen production while simultaneously generating high-concentration CO₂ streams for carbon capture and utilization.

Patrick Fischer – Vice President of R&D, 3M

Patrick Fischer will speak on “3M™ Glass Bubbles: Advanced Thermal Insulation Material for LH₂ Storage Tanks,” delivering deep insights into how cutting-edge insulation materials are transforming the future of liquid hydrogen storage.

His presentation will explore how liquified gases—such as hydrogen, nitrogen, LNG, oxygen, and argon—must be stored below their boiling points (for hydrogen, at 20 Kelvin) within double-walled cryogenic tanks filled with insulating materials. Patrick will explain the challenges of cryogenic storage and how innovation in insulation technology is crucial for improving performance and safety.

He will introduce 3M™ Glass Bubbles, highlighting their advantages in thermal efficiency, durability, and weight reduction.
